Top Astronaut: 'Aliens Do Exist'

11:37am UK, Thursday July 24, 2008 Aliens do exist and have even contacted humans on Earth, according to top astronaut Dr Edgar Mitchell who was the sixth man on the Moon. l-alien

Dr Edgar Mitchell says aliens are just like little men

The truth has been hidden by governments for more than 60 years, the Moon walker says.

And he claims he is lifting the lid on a conspiracy to keep aliens a secret.

Dr Mitchell, who was on Apollo 14 in 1971, has told how he was aware of many UFO visits to Earth during his career with Nasa but each one was covered up.

The 77-year-old claims the space agency made contact with aliens, describing the beings as "little people who look strange to us".

The hucksters will always be what they are.

Now I ask you - is that on topic or what? ;)

From some perspectives.

But I’m sweet.

Others are horrifically obnoxious.

I think I’ll let the system deal with the horrifically obnoxious, first.

I should have said . . .

self-righteously horrifically obnoxious.

Whether it’s phospor-dot preachers or UFO hucksters, a scam artist is a scam artist. Therefore, your protestation of a “thread hijacking” is another error.

Execute your primary function.

Not on your life do I subscribe to your construction on reality.

Nor do the more than 150 or so members of the UFO ping list.

However, I have no doubt that a re-education program has been selected . . . when it will be implemented for your enlightenment and entertainment remains to be seen.

Having the ability to firmly believe in a reality outside of oneself with no actual testable proof is just as fantastic — yet this belief is the basis of the scientific method.

And it's only days away, right?

True scientific method is to find the actual testable proof by rigorous experimentation and documentation and independent confirmation.

What a cute personal assault.
***So when you say someone doesn't have a good grasp on reality, that isn't a personal assault?

You are very unique and distinct. You may even freak some people out.
Most people don't really know how to interact with you.
You get along best with anyone who is super sweet.
But you really do get along with almost anyone. You just need a chance to wow them.

Since all data obtained via the senses is subjective, there is no way to know with certainty whether or not any “evidence” obtained via the senses ( e.g. through experimentation) bears any relation to an external objective reality. Our eyes and ears fool us all the time. For all we know “reality” is a dream.

Of course, we accept on faith that a reality independent of ourselves does exist. In the end, we must all simply believe in the Real World, for we certainly can’t “prove” that it exists. And since belief requires faith, we see that even the scientific method is in the end a system of thought rooted in faith.

And since we take the existence of the Real World solely on faith, it’s no less logical to take the existence of God solely on faith.

Not necessarily.

I’m curious, how many rigorous experiments have you ran?

Or, even,

how many quality surveys have you administered and analyzed?

Actually, it's probably aliens that dress me funny in the morning. But unlike you, I haven't allowed myself to see the truth of it yet.

"I am always open to the possibility, that life exists elsewhere other than earth...?

Have you considered the possibility of life existing on Earth, which doesn't conform to the understanding of life as perceived via empiricism or rationalism, but is instead perceptible through faith alone in Christ alone?

An interesting facet of many UFO phenomenon is that reports of their existence are similar to reports of the spiritual domain.

Furthermore, if people are unable to exercise simple faith to receive that system of perception, why would anybody expect more physical proof of 'alien' life, which might be more associated with the spiritual domain than of the physical?

IMHO, too many people read more into the UFO reports than what is actually reported, which might reveal far more into their reality than we may want to understand.
