Edwards, sporting a blazer, open shirt and green "Save Darfur" wristband,
In the minds of mass media journalists who fancy themselves as light giving brights, Edwards just proved that he's one of the good guys. Who courageously talks the talk speaking truth to power with his "Save Darfur" wristband.

Ah, that’s different! Romney’s a Republican. It’s a public service to expose Republicans.
Besides, a lot of people in both camps (left and right) just don’t think it serves any higher purpose to expose a man while his wife is struggling with terminal cancer.
If it were a Republican they probably couldn’t help themselves, but there’d still be backlash.

Mrs. Edwards most probably knows her husband is a dirtbag. Just as Mrs. Clinton knew her husband was a lying cheating pos.
But she stays with the dirtbag to continue her position in society.
Also Mrs. Edwards cancer though eventually terminal is not taking her out any time soon. So you should hide this character flaw until that time arrives?

One more thing. At least Mr. Spitzers little lady thing was an attractive playmate. Unlike Mr. Clinton and Edwards who quite obviously have very poor taste in playmates.

This is not just about Edwards.

Obama cannot now receive the anticipated, honeyed endorsement by Edwards at the Denver convention.

Edwards will be a walking embarrassment if present at the convention... and an existing embarrassment if even not there...

Also a big distraction from Obama’s Berlin moment...

You and I may not think so, and the editors of the various birdcage liners may not think so...but they think enough of their readers might think so.

I agree. And I think it was then they thought “wow! Not only can we cause a President to leave office,we could even decide who gets to BE President.” They've been trying to do exactly that ever since. And they've become emboldened as there was no one nor nothing to take them to task, until the Internet came along. They absolutely refuse to give up their pretension's of power! “Why, it just can't be over”, they think while watching their customer's draw away in disgust.

Let’s nor forget the recent attempted smear of John McCain about an ‘inappropriate relationship’ with a staffer. The MSM put it on the front page with absolutely no evidence other than gossip as quickly as they could, no reluctance there.

I understand she's in remission until the next time comes that they need the press attention.

All I ask is that a reporter simply ask Edward’s if he was at the hotel at the time indicated in the NE story. Seems like a very basic question to ask. Instead he is asked if he feels what happened in Hollywood will affect his future political positions? This allows him to answer by criticizing NE only. Why are reporters so stupid these days?

Seems like a simple enough question. It’d be interesting to see him try and answer it.

“There is a lot more evidence to this story than to what Woodward and Bernstein used.”

I don't believe this story- yet. I don't believe that the NE would follow Edwards, wait for him until the early morning, but NOT have a camera ready. They ALWAYS have a camera with them. Show me some proof- not just a NE “reporter” saying that's what happened, right now it just smacks of gossip.

You know, thinking about it the MSM can actually doing harm to democrats by being so late to these stories.

Their protected democrats get further down the road, only to fall later as alternative media catches up with it. For example, the Rev. Wright story. If MSM had done its job and that story had broken earlier, then the dems would not have nominated this empty suit.

The democrats ought not count on the MSM covering for them in this day and age.

Remember how the MSM was all over the Gary Hart hanky-panky even though Hart at the time was a major contender for the Democratic presidential nomination? Clearly their shadowing of Hart was no different than what the Enquirer reporters have done with Edwards.

Remember - it was the NATIONAL ENQUIRER that was running with the Lewinsky story when Newsweek suppressed it. Drudge broke it to the online world.

In fact, the the Enquirer had an excellent record for accuracy on the clinton scandals.

In 1972 Nixon won the fourth largest landslide in history - a list topped by George Washington's two unanimous elections in an infinitely less populous USA. The powers that be initially used mass media to drive Agnew from office, replacing him with the liberal Republican Ford. With an acceptable replacement in place mass media elites masterfully took down a most popular president (for perceived sins against communism in actuality). Mass media's propaganda proved so effective that to this very day a large segment of population views the omnipotent mass media monopoly of the early 1970s as a victim of Nixon's white house.

On second thought it goes deeper than superficial resentment of Nixonian anti-communism. Nixon acted as a scapegoat to enable egoists to unleash a torrent of pure hate in the name of truth, justice, and the American way. Egoists fancied themselves as victims to provide requisite psychological cover for their innate darkness on full display.

History repeats itself with Bush.

"When is an affair while your wife is dying of cancer NOT a political career killer?"
When you're one of the good guys as evidenced by your appearance at a homeless event.
