Ouch! Just after the great news in Ohio, one of the two absolute MUST win states for McCain, comes a bit of dangerous news from Colorado - the other must win state.

Gotta get moving, Colorado voters -- There is no realistic scenario right now where McCain can with without either Colorado or Ohio. Unless a shocking state goes red, like PA - an unlikely event which would indicate a trend making CO irrelevant - OH and CO are MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST wins!!

McCain Ping!

News not as good out of CO as it was OH, unfortunately.

No McCain cheerleader here, but if Juan wins OH, NH, NM, and IA, doesn't that offset CO? What's the EV of CO?

I had thought McCain would win CO and lose IA and NM. He will definitely gain NH (4).

If McCain gets Romney and wins Michigan, then G-S-M. I also believe that McCain can win NJ and maybe Pennsylvania.

A consequence of heavy Mexican immigration to Colorado.

“Colorado - the other must win state”

It’s easy for McCain to win without Colorado.

In other news, McCain is tied is Michigan and I believe is even up in New Jersey. Let’s see, Michigan 17 EV and New Jersey is 15 EV, while Colorado is only 9 EV. Colorado is not a ‘must win’ for McCain.

If it shakes out as a re-run of 2000 (looking more and more likely), we can't trade CO for NH and come out on top. The GOP must absolutely hammer away in CO (and OH and VA) to hold what we had then. I don't think we're going to get IA and NM this time around. PA? I don't know, union influence is very strong, but it's a better bet than MI. Fergetabout NJ. It's always a heartbreaker for the ‘Pubs. The polls show it competitive up to election day and then the ‘Rats win in a blowout of 10 points or so, as well as re-electing scumbums like Corslime and Lousyberg.

Let's be real here folks - I am pulling hard for John McCain, and unlike many at FR, I don't hate the man, and in fact rather like him.

But he's not going to win Michigan, Iowa, New Hampshire, or New Mexico. Iowa wants bribes McCain won't give, NH is a pipe-dream, and New Mexico isn't enough anyway. Romney isn't going to turn al-Michigan blue with Obama on the ticket and Dems running EVERYTHING in Michigan. None of these states are going to flip in 2008, that's just how it is.

Colorado and Ohio are the keys to victory. He's not turning blue states red this year, he's just not. Not without a collapse by Obama so big the press can't cover it up.

Jindal or Palin are what's needed at Veep. Nobody else will give a real boost - other than one hoped for in the heart that never materializes in November.

I hope McCain turns some news states, too. But if he does, it's going to be indicative of a trend that makes a landslide victory. Right now, we need CO and OH, period. That's the realist in me talking.

Ever hear of the Bradley/Wilder effect?

If Obama’s vote is 10% behind his polls on election day, just like Bradley and Wilder ( and just like Obama in this year’s New Hampshire primary!), then what states is Barack actually ahead in?

It seems to me that there is a great deal of uncertainty in the polling results this year, and we won’t know the identity of the next President until late on the evening of November 4th, at the earliest.

I do too. He’s more interested in America than the rest of the world.

Does Rasmussen include an extra couple points for Democrat voter fraud?

“A consequence of heavy Mexican immigration to Colorado.”

If, when you say Mexican, you mean Californian, you’re correct. But I thought all of the R’s pandering to illegals was going to get us the Mexican vote......

Two facts:

McCain is going to win Colorado.

Colorado is not a "must win" state for McCain.

Colorado is not a Must Win state for McCain. McCain is going to win 40 plus states on the strength of Bambi’s arrogance and condesencion alone. Fear not...this is still America. I also think this ‘Tour of Duty’ trip is going to backfire big time. Hell...come Labor Day Obama may not even be the candidate if the Super Delegates keep switching back to Hillary...11 more today.

President Bush lost New Hampshire by 9000 votes in 2004 and McCain has been more popular than President Bush in New Hampshire, he even won the 2000 primary there. I am 90% sure that McCain is going to win new Hampshire.

New Mexico is for McCain.

Iowa and Michigan, McCain has 50% chance of winning them.
