The travel arrangements for the reporters are made by the campaigns. Since the campaigns are hiring the charter planes and providing close access to the candidate, they have the right to dictate the terms and conditions for reporters who make the trip, including a dress code. If the reporters don't like it, they can charter their own planes, or fly commercial, and stand in the crowd with everyone else, wearing their t-shirts and flip-flops.
But, supposedly this is a senatorial “fact finding trip” and not a campaign trip. That’s why it’s being paid for by yours truly, the American citizen, and that’s why he dragged along mutt and jeff. Whom he pretended to include in a “press conference” by asking if Hagel had anything to add and he just said “no”. What a joke.
So why is the Obama campaign dictating anything if it’s a Senate trip? A Senate trip I would think would be handled by Senate staffers and the State Dept.
Am I wrong?
Someone needs to call them to the carpet on this and ask why are we paying for his campaign’s whirlwind tour?
Why isn’t Fox or someone doing a story on this BS? Has Rush said anything about it?
