I may be wrong about this but Canadian, by birth, and by his own words. He MC’d Rush’s show not long ago and said as much. He resides in New England today, not sure which state.

How is it that he was born in Canada? I believe that Mark explained that one time. It seems that he wanted to be close to his mother at the time. :)
