I’m talking about our party. If people don’t vote for The Republican Ticket then that is giving Barack a free pass into the White House.

Because the party is automatically owed members' votes - no matter how poor the candidate - right? And if its members oblige, exactly what incentive does the party have to change?

It wasn’t “the party” who picked McCain. It was democrats, independents and some moderates.
