Just try to buy a light, small two cycle outboard motor for a flat transom canoe, for example. The EPA has prohibited them and now forces you to buy more expensive and, worst of all, 25% heavier, four cycle engines for the same purpose. With a 5 hp engine this means a 55 lb. monstrosity instead of a relatively handy 44 lb. engine that's not too hard to lift on to and off of your boat's transom. Even now they're doing the same thing with two cycle lawn machines, like weed eaters.

Any climate tax involves arguments about costs and benefits; voting to raise energy prices is not conducive to re-election. Maybe those two cycle engines have improved since my experiences with them but I gave up on them because I never had one that lasted more than one season, without having to crank them until my arm was about to fall off.

I have an electric chain saw, weed eater and leaf blower, yes all that extension cord is a pain in the butt but it beats cranking and they are big enough for my purposes. I don’t have a boat but if I did I probably wouldn’t go electric with its engine..........
