Amazing isn’t it....
I guess CINO could also be a Christian In Name Only...so may people I see who wear the ‘Christian’ moniker without living according to Christ’s words.
Wrong on both counts.
Some claim to be Catholic when in fact they aren’t. Some claim to be Christian when they aren’t really. Some claim to be Jewish when they aren’t, in that they don’t follow the Bible. Some claim to be Greek/Eastern Orthodox when they aren’t in that they don’t live the teachings.
How can any Lutheran, Presbyterian, Baptist, Southern Baptist, COE, Episcipalian, Assembly of God, Pentecostal, etc. vote for someone like Obama? I don’t know but there are plenty who claim they are yet they will vote for Obama.
Obama is getting me to do what I swore I would not do. Vote for McCain.
Beautiful fish, post it every chance you get.
Obama is obviously not prolife no doubt.
But McCain is also not prolife either, make no mistake.
There are plenty of sources on the net to point this out.
So for me, McCain is also out, I’ll write in a candidate.
they adopted an abandoned baby. That's a very pro-life thing to do.
Simple - they are not following the command to live their faith as a light to the world. Period. Thus bringing their "faith" into question...
John, in the First Epistle of John, saw these poseurs coming: They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out that it might become plain that they all are not of us.
Chaput was young and very naive then. Today Chaput is older and still naive about a lot of things.
“they adopted an abandoned baby. That’s a very pro-life thing to do.”
I’m sorry, that’s only one piece of the puzzle. As I have said, the net has plenty of sources indicating McCain is NOT prolife, including criticism from Alan Keyes.
Besides, even crooks donate to charities sometimes, so some good work does not render a candidate as overall prolife.
I have heard that myself. And you have the bishops to blame.
But it's a fact, whereas you are trafficking in conjecture and hearsay.
BOOKMARK
The application of just war theory to things like the War on Terror, Iraq and Afghanistan are matters of prudential debate. I don't think Democratic pacifism is the only reasonable answer to the solution. John McCain has been a strong opponent of torture, even in the broadened definition of torture that the Left is pushing. As for poverty, government programs and handouts are not the only way to fight it, but also having a strong, free and prosperous economy. Once again, the Democratic party's answers are not necessarily the best concerning this. As for racism, Obama's pastor of 20 years embraces and teaches an explicitly racist ideology, Black liberation theology, and Obama himself stereotypes a whole race of people when he calls his own grandmother a "typical white person". Obama is no cure for racism or racial healing.
Simple..devout Democrats, nominal Catholics
Look, I never disputed what you said about McCain’s adoption.
What I maintain is that does NOT make him overall prolife, from a catholic perspective.
Try the following for starters, plenty more info on the net.

In short, McCain is only less worse than Obama but NOT prolife.
No catholic is obliged to vote for whoever the GOP puts out. The candidate must pass the litmus test from catholic perspective. Matter of fact, shilling for McCain on prolife platform may well be quite sinful.
How you vote is none of my business, but I’ll see to that all the people I come in contact with knows that McCain is NOT prolife.
How constructive a citizen do you think that makes you?
Indeed, many of the “pieces of cloth” of the seamless garment theory are social justice rather than “life” related.
And, while we have different ideas of how best to achieve the social justice goals, we are labeled ‘right wing’.
Give me a break.
Just when did you lose the ability to be impartial?
Ok, dense as it is, please allow me to elaborate further, using a real life example.....
I have a close family member who regularly gave money and supported an orphanage, in addition to visitations and gifts ect BUT, he also encouraged and had his girlfriend went through an abortion. How’s that for a trump card?
Making an act of kindness however great is it does not necessaritly qualify him to be “prolife”.
You really need to get off the high horse of shilling for McCain and align yourself with the Catholic definition of what prolife is.
McCain, I’ll say again, is NOT prolife, neither is Obama. I don’t care if you are a card carrying GOP member.
Sorry, that’s just the way it is.
