Tony was always honest. He said that the money became an issue and so he quit.
He was also a positive person so that’s all we know because he never whined.

I think he realised that time was short and if he was going to make enough to put his kids through college and allow them and his wife to live the life they had known for many years then there was no alternative.
I am sure he could have done things behind the scenes to earn other cash while at the White House but his honesty would not allow this he could not give his all to both and this was not Tony he had to quit one to concentrate on the other.
What I do not think we realised or wanted to realise that this really showed that his time with us was nearing an end.
