And a large percentage of the idiots vote for Demonrats! To hell with them. This infuriates me because these people really have no right to b**ch when they are at the root of the problem. Let us discuss the leftist judges that are put in by Clintoon and will be with Obama and their rights for murderers and child molesters, etc. I have no more tolerance for anyone voting that way. They have brought this country to the point of destruction.

I have a family of Mexicans living next door to me. They were there before I moved in nine years ago. To this day, only one of them can speak at any length in English.

Yes. I realize this as I have been travelling internationally for many, many years. My point is that the idea of Americans ‘learning Spanish’ is ludicrous if there is going to be an elitist angle by certain Spanish speaking communities. It sounds more like an excuse to me....

U.S. voters overwhelmingly disagree with Obama---83% place a higher priority on encouraging immigrants to speak English.

Once again, we have irrefutable confirmation that anti-illegal is a consensus issue. It cuts across the political spectrum---one of those rare issues that unites nearly all of the electorate.

If I write GOD on the ballot, they’ll probably give the vote to Obama.

Not Anthony Kennedy?

How does that contradict the notion that knowing at least some English is a qualification for being a good citizen?

I was commenting on the attitude of some, that folks who have worked to become citizens, but who prefer to speak in their native tongues most of the time, are somehow not considered true Americans. It wasn't true in the 20's and it's not true now.

A critical distinction between most of the 1920's immigrants versus most of today's is that the 1920's immigrants (from what I understand) did have have sought to have their own language pressed upon anyone else. If they needed to go to a store and they didn't know enough English to find what they needed, they would bring along a relative to help them. They would not demand that the store label its goods in their language.
