A commissioner and a supposedly highly educated judge who are unfamiliar with dinner table science terms? Apparently, their teachers were niggardly when it came to teaching definitions of words.

John Wiley Price is a firebrand from wayback. He knows very well what a black hole is but chooses to make an incident for reasons best known to himself.I think this also shows that JWP and the other guy more than likely weren't even listening anyway. Probably just heard the word "black" and reacted. Idiots.

His attention wavered for a moment as his mind drifted off toward thoughts of a "black ho'" he'd just recently met; suddenly he awoke to the voice of another commissioner asking him about her. "Black ho, black ho?" he gasped; oh, no brother, she was "white".
No doubt the story would be corrupted by the ignorant newspaper people for the morning edition the next day.

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud “Excuse me!” He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a “white hole.”
Village idiot alert!.....

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole." That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy. These buffoons are too stupid to be in any position of authority. As though any use of the word "black" MUST be some denigration of the black race.
To quote Jerry Seinfeld, "Why must you always be the focal point of attention? Why can't you just be? Why can't you live?"

” One day White House might be deemed racially insensitive and not just a color?”
I agree, that’s probably what we are headed for in this PC world we live in.
To: TexasCajun
Well, it’s not a blue hole, a red hole, or a blasted green hole...it’s a freakin’ black hole.
Dear Lord, people are SOOOO stupid, please forgive their stupidity.
To: TexasCajun
Will they have to re-name aircraft telemetry black boxes?
What about secret computer operations? Can they still be called black boxes?
Can covert intel ops still be called black bag operations?
To: AngelesCrestHighway
John Wiley Price is the village idiot, also known as The Dallas Joker. He used to wear a purple suit while sporting his corn rows and bull horn to interrupt traffic on the highway so he could do his protest dance in the 90s.
Therefore, we don’t take him very seriously, and yes he very ready for any racial fight. Our version of Jesse Jackass. Aren’t we lucky? The clown keeps getting voted back in, I guess just for entertainment purposes.

Some of the comments on the dallas blog are truly astounding. I can't believe there are people DEFENDING Price! Here's an example:
"Posted by buck @ 11:16 AM Tue, Jul 08, 2008
These comments explain a lot about why Dallas is so polarized.
It's rude to use "black" in a negative context -- scientific, maybe, but rude.
Mayfield is a complete jerk anyway. I hope the Democratic broom sweeps his direction next election."
PC nazis like Buck here are why our country is going to hell in a handbasket. I'm sure he's part of the "democratic broom" that hopes to sweep away the last threads of sanity in favor of speech suppression of those they despise. They'll find any excuse to silence you, even when they admit the statement was not legitimately racist.

...As for Kenneth Mayfield I suggest that the best thing to do is apologize, offer an explanation as to what you meant and choose a different term."
Another idiot who thinks that we should bow to the demands of race baiting biggots. At what point will these morons wake up and regret sacrificing our most important freedoms for the sake of those who make a career out of being offended?
To: TexasCajun
Only if you say “shut your big black hole”.
Other than that, it’s a scientific term just like “Man Made Global Warming”.

“I guess just for entertainment purposes.”...
Some politicians are great for entertainment and the funny part is, most are liberal. It seems to me that stuck on dumb and liberalism are two sides of the same coin....
To: unkus
Use of the word niggardly got a white professor in tiouble, once. I cant remember the details. It wasn't a professor, it was a city council employee talking about budget expenditure. He got fired, but was later reinstated after the educated world informed the the "City council in question what a bunch of bigoted ignoramuses they were.
