Some Houston residents are upset after Korans were left on the doorsteps of hundreds of homes in their neighborhood as part of a campaign to educate people about Islam.
Residents of Braes Timbers in southwest Houston began finding the holy books two weeks ago, MyFOXHouston.com reported. The Korans came with a note saying they had been left by the Book of Signs Foundation, which claims to have distributed 30,000 free copies of the texts to residents throughout the city.

Smear it in bacon fat and give it back.
“this site as hate filled and FReepers as bigots.”
Do you even know the definition of the word “bigot”??
Hating a murdering, child-molesting, cult is not being a bigot. Hating murder is a good thing. Hating child-molesters is a good thing. Hating women beaters is a good thing. Hating someone who wants you dead because you refuse to take part in their cult is a good thing.
You can support that murdering cult all you want but don’t dare tell the rest of us we must submit to your way of thinking. This is America, not the ignorant and illiterate Middle East.
So . . . uhhhh . . . doing some . . .
interesting things . . . as a group, with clown masks . . . and maybe all the family dogs . . . with some pages from some books . . . could get interesting quick.
Burning is inexcuseable (haven’t read the thread, won’t be surprised if it’s advocated), but for those who advocate the unwanted distribution of the New Testament, consistancy requires support for distribution of the Koran
So then the real problem with Muslim extremists is not with their methods, but rather that they aren't getting their orders from the right Source?
Thus far that's what I've read on this thread. Plenty of creative ideas for using the Korans, but no one suggesting that we prohibit their distribution.
I was thinking the same thing. Just leaving them on doorsteps is disrespectful. I have a hard time believeing that muslim did that.
This is why it makes people nervos, Islamists believe that the book actually becomes allah...it has a dual identity. So, when it is desecrated, they have the right to kill the desecrator...actually, the duty to do so.
When people throw them away, will this be used as an excuse for violence? They killed people over a cartoon, what about a koran dumped in the trash can?
That’s the difference.
Have you ever read the story of Sundar Singh? His burning the Bible page by page, actually led to his conversion! The purpose of the Bible is to lead us to Jesus Christ. The Bible doesn’t save us. Church doesn’t save us...only Jesus Christ can save us.
I remember I had to memorise this saying as a kid:
“I am my neighbor’s Bible, He reads me when we meet;
Today he reads me in my home, Tomorrow in the street.
He may be relative or friend, Or slight acquaintance be;
He may not even know my name, Yet he is reading me.”
Personally, I could never insult my Lord and all He has done for me, by keeping this book, or reading it. I think that I might walk it down to their headquarters, thank them for the gift, give it back, and explain this fact to them as to why I could not keep the book.
What a great witnessing opportunity for Christians! They are coming right to our doors! We don’t need to travel overseas to be a missionary.
No, the Bible clearly calls for stoning sinners. Don’t you see the similarity of this question to the religious leaders bringing the adulteress to Jesus, and asking him if she should be stoned?!
What was it Jesus said, I don’t have the exact quote, but he did tell us that what happened to him, would happen to those that followed him! Wow, this is a clear proof that his words are true.
Was God harsh? Yes. He tells us clearly to fear Him!
But, think about why this happened in the old Testament, and why we do not do these things now. In the old Testament, there was no possibility of regenerate souls. People lost in sin, were not going to change in this life. They couldn’t, because Jesus Christ had not risen from the dead. Regeneration was not possible yet, so God ordered that the wickedness be wiped out; like cutting out cancer. It was the only way at the time.
We do not do this now, because the Holy Spirit is alive in the world and made avalible to everyone through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Now, where there is life, there is hope of salvation, from our old sinful nature. Through Jesus Christ our heart and souls can be made new again. Washed clean by the blood of Christ, and made into a new person!
I have to tell you something exciting for me. I have been praying about this question for some time now. James 1:5 tells us that God will give us wisdom that we lack, so I knew I would have an answer to this question of harsh killing in the Old Testament. Honestly, this bothered me greatly. I have a daughter who is a mentally ill drug addict. She does many vile things. Every manner of sin described in the Book! The old Testament would have me take her into the street and stone her myself! I just could not reconsile this in my heart, with a Loving God, who had forgiven so much in me.
I didn’t know the answer until I started to type this, right now!
And the question must be asked, “what is the message?”
The message is simple, accept mohammedanism or the next time we leave something you won’t like it.
Otherwise they wouldn’t have been sneaking around and then disappearing without a word. Every religious groups I’ve had interactions with, jehovas witnesses, Jews, Catholics, wiccans who chose to share their beliefs did it face to face and in the open.
Not like gangsters leaving a warning to pay protection or get your legs broken.
Also, in the OT times, there were populations that were entirely wicked. God ordered their destruction to keep the Jewish bloodlines separate in order that Christ could be born.
God did not destroy a society until it was thoroughly evil and beyond hope. Remember the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 more years in part because of their sin, but also because the wickedness in the lands they were to conquer was not complete yet
God states he takes no pleasure in the destruction of the wicked, but wants all to be saved.
Hate to nitpick, but I can not help myself....the fact is that Jesus’ bloodline is not entirely Jewish. Ruth was a moabite. She married Boaz, who happened to be the son of Rahab the (former) prostitute, who had lived in Jerico and wasn’t Jewish either....We know that Boaz and Ruth were the great grandparents of King David.
God can take our mistakes and make something beautiful out of them. His line shows this. It shows his mercy and his love, and his forgiveness.
“I don’t question what The Lord My God told His people to do. I’m just glad they did it”
And militant islamics are doing what they believe God told them to do.
And the irony is completely lost on you.
“If God created everything, and He tells you to destroy something in His creation, isn’t that His right?’
And this is how islamics justify what they do.
And the irony rolls on...
If you hold muslims, all muslims, in such low regard, then you must four square against American boys and girls dying in that country.
Such a goofy remark doesn't even merit a response.

All evidence to the contrary.

Because you don’t have one. You’re completely stumped in your inconsistency.
