Comment:
How did the Com-Post get her identity, HOW.
On a lighter side:
I understood that our identities were known only to FRee Republic and these identities were written down on a Funk and Wagnels dictionary page and kept in an old mayonnaise jar under the front porch over at Jims house.
Now I'm shakin in my booties worried that some Com-Post reporter hoping to intimidate me and my family and possibly get me fired will show up on my door step.
Help me Messiah Obama, please call off your dogs cause I done loses my way.
How, indeed? Is something broke regarding security, here? Jim, can you shed any light on this?
Wow, I just wrote three successive questions comprising the entire post. That's enough
.....isn't it?
With tools like log files for "web bug" images, Google searches, ARIN network searches, etc., the identities of many people can be determined. A simple way to get someone to take the bait would be to ping them to a low-traffic thread with an embedded image.
This has happened before. Dan Moldea compiled a whole dossier of names.
And then there was the time that a Freeper attached a cookie to one of his embedded images on a thread. It was apparently harmless, but it freaked out some paranoid types who thought that FR was responsible, when it was actually just a regular user.
