Obama claims to have been born in Hawaii, which was already a state when he was born. If so, he is a natural-born citizem under the 14th amendment. Unless someone can come up with rock-solid proof he was born in another country, this isn't going anywhere...and maybe not even then.

Meanwhile, we can count on the NY Times occasionally wondering whether John McCain is disqualified by virtue of having been born in the US Canal Zone.

Yup. Born in America to an American mother. Pretty much nails it.

14th Amendment: “All persons born ... in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States”. ‘nuff said.

I'd like to become President. Although I am a UK FReeper, what you are saying is that the onus is on YOU to prove I wasn't born in America. I can just claim citizenship.

What's that? You'd like me to present my Birth Certificate? Umm, look, I put a photo-shopped fake up on my presidential website. Isn't that good enough for you?
