May God rest his soul. I hope he found peace to go along with his gift of laughter.

Also a proclaimed Atheist, and hater of Christians, the Military and Conservatives.
Who knows what he did to ensure the salvation of his soul, which I hope he may have done. However, by watching him on stage and listening to his albums, I have to say that I have my doubts.
For his sake, I hope he truly rests in peace. He was one of the funniest comedians of our time. His Earthly legacy remains in tact.

I've got mixed feelings. On the one hand, he was funny and clever and original. On the other hand, much of his material especially as time went by was extremely hateful and pessimistic and especially anti-god anti-christ.
So when a guy like this dies, I feel a sense of sadness for him, wondering if his athiestic devotion and anti-faith rhetoric cost him his soul and salvation.
But, rest in peace if possible George. Thanks for a few laughs. Sorry you got it so wrong.

He was one of the comedians I remember growing up with. He turned bitter after his wife died.
Growing up, I remember listening to Carlin, David Frye, Vaughn Meder, and Mort Sahl, for political humor and counter-culture humor.
