James Hansen, one of the world's leading climate scientists, will today call for the chief executives of large fossil fuel companies to be put on trial for high crimes against humanity and nature, accusing them of actively spreading doubt about global warming in the same way that tobacco companies blurred the links between smoking and cancer.
Hansen will use the symbolically charged 20th anniversary of his groundbreaking speech to the US Congress - in which he was among the first to sound the alarm over the reality of global warming - to argue that radical steps need to be taken immediately if the "perfect storm" of irreversible climate change is not to become inevitable.
Speaking before Congress again, he will accuse the chief executive officers of companies such as ExxonMobil and Peabody Energy of being fully aware of the disinformation about climate change they are spreading.

His sharpest words are reserved for the special interests he blames for public confusion about the nature of the global warming threat. "The problem is not political will, it's the alligator shoes - the lobbyists. It's the fact that money talks in Washington, and that democracy is not working the way it's intended to work."

Since it is now "climate change", does he also celebrate the anniverary of his even earlier proclamations about "Global Cooling" and an impending ice age?

Hansen is the one who needs to be put on trial for trying to help Enron pull off the scam of the century.

“About 20 years ago Enron was owner and operator of an interstate network of natural gas pipelines, and had transformed itself into a billion-dollar-a-day commodity trader, buying and selling contracts and their derivatives to deliver natural gas, electricity, internet bandwidth, whatever. The 1990 Clean Air Act amendments authorized the Environmental Protection Agency to put a cap on how much pollutant the operator of a fossil-fueled plant was allowed to emit. In the early 1990s Enron had helped establish the market for, and became the major trader in, EPA’s $20 billion-per-year sulphur dioxide cap-and-trade program, the forerunner of today’s proposed carbon credit trade. This commodity exchange of emission allowances caused Enron’s stock to rapidly rise.
Then came the inevitable question, what next? How about a carbon dioxide cap-and-trade program? The problem was that CO2 is not a pollutant, and therefore the EPA had no authority to cap its emission.”
This is from an article published 3/16/07 and written earlier; the author had no idea that the Court would declare CO2 a pollutant as it now has.
This should be published worldwide in light of this new fact.

Put global warming hoaxers on trial for scientific fraud.
I may misunderstand your post, but there is no analysis that shows that there are temperature increases and furthermore there are no studies that prove temperature fluctuations are man-made. In fact there is not one single peer-reviewed study that proves that temperature is linked to C02. This is precisely why Mr. Hansen will not allow the temperature data to be released and why he will not publish the methodologies used by NASA when adjusting temperature data for errors. He knows that that real scientists would expose his errors and make him out as the fraud that he is. His career would end, the money would dry up and he would die a laughingstock. Any suggestion that Hansen has proof of man-made warming is pure speculation, a guess, until the data is properly analyzed.
I'm still not sure your guys aren't concerned about the “millions of tons” of CO2 that we put up into the atmosphere each year.
Actually, the amount of C02 that we put out each year is about 0.12% of the total effective greenhouse warming gases that are generated each year. Another 0.16% are other manmade causes (mostly methane). The other 99.72% of effective greenhouse gases are natural.
But millions of tons of CO2 is so much more alarming. (Its a BIG planet folks, in spite of that photo from the moon).
Put Climate Change Scientists in stocks and pass out salmonella tomatoes.
