The thought that the Rep. party would nominate two moderate Dems to the top of the ticket makes me think I'm living in Bazaro world.
no.
Then we would have two Democrat tickets.
Lieberman deserves at least a cabinet position.
And I am still voting Libertarian in 2008.
I like Joe. He’s one of the few straight shooters in D. C.
“That usually has been met with howls of derision from other conservatives who find the notion preposterous. But is it?”
YES!!!
I thought Lil’Joe already said he was out.
nominally,
lieberman is not a democrat,
but an independent.
All we need, a demoreplulican backed up by a libodemocrat. Aint gonna fly. ;-)
Just the ticket to ruin the Republican Party.
No Go Joe is a fine gentleman.
A gentleman who is a gun grabber, pro abortion, and supporter of liberal causes of all sorts.
Lieberman is a howling liberal. Pro tax-and-spend, pro abortion, pro gay rights, anti second amendment, you name it. The ONLY thing he is any good on is that he supports the war on terror.
If you like abortion, higher taxes, and gay marriage, you’d might as well vote for Obama and be done with it.
Yeah, smart move.
We all hated Lieberman in 2000 - because of who he actually was - and his cachet hasn’t improved much except by contrast with the rotting stench of the rest of the RAT rabble. Joe sucks - and by Scoop Jackson standards, he probably has his own corner in Times Square.
God Fearing, patriotic Americans should support a choice like Joe in the same way that they should spread herpes with every vulnerable person they meet.
To bad that Zell Miller is really old...I’d rather have Zell as pres than McCain.
Joe Lieberman would be much better for our country than Obama.
If we could be relatively certain McCain wouldn’t die, it would be a pretty good move. Lieberman would assure victory. A republican would get appointed to the senate in his place (note that even if Connecticutt had a rule about “party”, it wouldn’t apply because Joe isn’t a Democrat).
And in 4 years, if McCain quit, Lieberman would actually have the leg up for the DEMOCRATIC party nomination, while we’d get a shot at nominating a true conservative.
Of course, the idea of Joe L. for VP on our ticket is rediculous. And it will never happen. But there would be some good parts to anotherwise absurd choice.
The biggest plus would be relative to McCain picking some RINO who would then have a leg up for the republican party nomination in 4 years.
McCain should reach across the aisle and pick a Republican.
Why? Did Hillary turn him down?
I’ve been told to support McCain if he picks a conservative VP because McCain is old and may not last. Does the same hold true if he picks Joe?
LOL what an election.
welcome to Bizzaro Politics ... g’bye
