McCain: It can be “tough” to be proud of USA

WASHINGTON - Republican presidential candidate John McCain admitted on Saturday it can be difficult at times to be proud of the United States.

“I’ll admit to you … that it’s tough in some respects,” McCain said when asked by a questioner at a town hall meeting how to be proud of the country.

“We have not always done things right and we mismanaged the war in Iraq very badly for nearly four years.”

McCain’s wife, Cindy, pounced on Michelle Obama, the wife of presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama, for saying in February that she was proud of her country “for the first time in my adult life.”

The Arizona senator said it was important for the United States to be more humble and inclusive.

There are plenty of times when it is difficult to be proud of this country. When we failed to stop the genocide in Rwanda and the failure to impeach Clintoon for starters.

He's not WORSE than Obama, he's the SAME as Obama.

Read Ann Coulter, she's got the right idea here.

If you want to reward this jerk for all the times he went against the party, for trying to shove amnesty down our throats, and for his constant sucking up to the rats, you go right ahead.

I see no "media trap" here - all the things that are wrong with RINO boy are true. He has a long history of being wrong and kissing rat a$$.

Your in a sea of irrational MCCIN haters who scout the leftist media they hate for a MCCAIN HIT PIECE THEY CAN PLAY LIKE IN PIGS IN MUD.They drag up this hit piece from the far left Reuter's BLOG and they believe every word without question. They don't care if the headline is wrong or the hit piece comes from the Huffington Post. They only care to get Obama elected. This is the same crowd whose great idea it was to sit out the 2006 election to prove a point and await the great sweeping victory in 2008.
They are the USEFUL IDIOTS of the Radical Left .The radical is now policing us on this website and will shut US up once they gain complete control. This crowd is too irrational to believe or care anymore.

"If we keep electing people like Juan McPain were still heading in the Socialist direction. Please tell me where you think I'm wrong here."

You wouldn't know an American with a heart from a complete communist would you?

If the country ever becomes completely enslaved by marxist overlords, it will be people like you who have tipped the scales because you want your own brand of complete control.

I don't give a fly's backside if you want it all and you want it all now. Go tell your mamma to throw out your American pie cause it ain't perfect enough for you. I think I'll keep mine and add some sugar, thank you very much.

The #1 reason we are left with a "McCain" is all you folks will vote for him. If the GOP didn't have you in their back pockets they would be forced to produce a better candidate.

Instead, "A vote for a third party is a vote for Obama"

Yea, that losing mantra is really working out for America. It keeps getting worse each election cycle.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting different results.

All you "Vote for McCain, or Else" Freepers are part of the huge problem that our Country will be facing in the next 30 years.

But you will never "get it"

You will get McCain...what a prize! Looks like, Smells Like, Taste Like...

A vote for Barr (or Paul) is just a vote for b. hussein obama.

That's nonsense. A vote for McCain or Obama is a vote for statism, as both fundamentally agree on nearly every issue debated. It's business as usual regardless of which one of those two gets the office.

A vote for Barr is a vote for the libertarian/constitutional principles that once were the fundamental beliefs of the GOP. The GOP hasn't run a conservative candidate since 1984 - it's time to get off the sinking ship.

Bob Barr is a bitter Ex Rep congressman who is trying to seek revenge against Bush and the RNC for not forcing out the Rep rival that beat him in the Rep primary. Bob Barr has joined forces with the ACLU to fight against the War On Terror out of spite too. He is a bitter soul who apparently thought he deserves a congressional seat for life !

And your solution is.........

You have none except we should all stay home and not vote.

That is pure lunacy and it is juvenile.

I’m going to vote for John McCain for one simple reason and I invoke The Lazarus Long tried and true Voting Method....

If you don’t know who to vote for then know who to vote against!

It works every time it is tried.

It is easy to find fault with the US. It is even easier to be proud of the US at the same time.

McCain is Obama-lite. He’s Obama without the smile. He and Obama are chasing the same voters. Neither one has any desire for my vote.

I cannot think of an issue where I trust McCain. On most issues, he spits in my face and dares me not to vote for him.

It may take a President Obama for the US to understand what Democrats are.
