Watts reiterates that he is still a Republican.

In name only, J.C.

After reading article after article where someone is described as "black" saying they are voting for Obama and then learning that they are voting for him due to his skin color I'm wondering if the word "racist" might have changed a bit.

It seems to me that Obama is getting a lot of support and votes because people think he is something he isn't because they look at his skin. He is not in any way associated with decendents of American slaves except that his ancestors might have sold them. Another oddity are the "white" folks that are supporting Obama because of their "guilt". But what guilt? Obama is 1/2 white, etc.

Obama kind of reminds me of that Star Trek episode where Frank Gorshin is black on one side and white on another. And he hates another guy who is the same way at first glance but then actually opposite. Obama is nothing like he pretends to be.

I could care less what color our president is as long as he is red, white and blue. Those are not Obama's colors.

"But how does someone that claims to be a conservative vote for Obama. "

Some quotes and sources would help. The article claims Watts said he is "still a Republican" not that he is a conservative.

Am I reading this correctly? JCWatts voting for melanin, and not character?

RINOs do that. Is he one of them?

If so, sad.

Maybe McCain and Watts can both endorse Obama.

Can’t see I blame him. Why would you vote for a white liberal when you can vote for a black one.

This just shows what frauds they are. They would let Hussien take America over the cliff just because his skin is darker (half black, BTW).

This black conservative isn’t conflicted at all. I don’t vote for pro-baby-murder, pro-homosexual, pro-universal-health-care, tax-and-spend liberals, no matter what color they are.

Right. Watts is a McCain Republican. And yes, McCain may end up voting Obama before its over with if he comes to think it might win him popularity points with the left.

You posted,

You are dead right on this. We as a liberal nation have come so far on this issue that when 90 some percent of blacks vote for a black candidate over a white candidate, that is o.k.
If 90 some percent of whites vote for a white candidate over a black, the whites are racist.

Lesson learned.....you can only be racist if you are white.

If this is true, he obviously puts race before values.

So sick of these guys being so ill-informed on how the Republican Party, throughout history, has always done much, much MORE for blacks than the Dems (who’ve really done nothing). He should read Rev. Wayne Perryman’s book (and more) on this subject - I’ve heard Perryman speak on cspan quite eloquently about it (BTW - he’s black).

It gets worse.

I read earlier today that Armstrong Williams, black Conservative radio host and columnist, also plans to vote for Obama.

Except for Michael Steele, the GOP bench, already thin, is just about empty.

Thomas Sowell is 78, Ward Connerly is 69, and Clarence Thomas is 60.

Larry Elder is 56 and has probably reached the peak of his radio influence.

Colin Powell and Condi Rice would have been completely comfortable in Democratic administrations. Neither one has ever given a clear, convincing reason for being a Republican.

Republican “outreach” to black voters as a collective entity is doomed to political failure.

We will always be outbid and outclassed by the Democrats.

The GOP must adhere to its principles and must appeal to blacks as individuals.

We offer a level playing field to all citizens.

We offer complete support to those who are too young or too old or too disabled to work.

And we offer a generous safety net to those who have temporarily fallen.

The GOP needs political leaders who can make that case with strength and conviction every day.

We don't have those leaders, and the GOP and America are about to pay a heavy a price for our failure.

“Powell has hinted he’ll vote for B. Hussein and it wouldn’t surprise me if conservatives like Condi and Steele did likewise, without publicly endorsing him. “

Interesting speculation - of the three, I’d bet that Steele WON’T vote for BHO. I still consider him smarter than that.

The Associalistic Press, doing what they have always done: carry water for the Democratic Party, and serve as the propaganda, dirty tricks and disinformation department of Obamination’s campaign. Nothing new here.
Most black conservatives are even more anti-liberal than white conservatives. Obama is by far the most left wing candidate this country or any other country has ever seen. Black conservatives won't vote for him.
Another thing, it doesn't make one hoot of difference if some so-called “black conservatives” vote for Obama or not.
Why? Because even Hanoi John Kerry won to the tune of 92% of the black vote and still lost. There are less than 1 million black conservative voters out there. If all of them voted for Obama, he still can't make up the over 3 million votes that John Kerry lost by. Plus of course even more millions of hardworking, blue color white men, together with the Hilary backing white women, and plenty of anti-black Latinio’s will simply not vote for Obama. That swamps any “black conservative” vote Obama gets any day.

AND he’s led a VERY privileged life, with Ivy-League education (as has his wife). You’re right - WHAT guilt? Really disgusts me.

Is he related to Walter Williams (another great conservative radio host and fill-in for Rush)?

BTW, I had no idea Thomas Sowell was 78!!!

I haven’t heard Perryman before. I’ll have to look him up on Youtube or something. I do really respect the Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson though. If he comes out and says he’s voting for Obama, I would scream. Disappointing about these other guys though although I have suspected about Watts for some time and have never really trusted Powell.
