I apologize. Usually I can see the implied humour, but I missed it on this one.
I think you mean the 16th and 17th.
I think more states need to start taking care of their own business instead of running to Uncle Sugar everytime they have a problem. The constitution specifically states that if it isn’t in the constitution then it is the state’s responsibility not the feds.
If you took a job from which you had not the right of resignation would you believe you had any power to demand any sort of consideration on that job. If you joined a gang which demanded lifetime membership and from which you could not resign on pain of death would you be able to demand any consideration from the leaders of said gang, would you be able to say what you would and wouldn’t do in response to their demands? Think about it, the South Carolinians who agreed to join the United States of America never thought for one minute that they DID NOT have the right to opt out at a later date. If they had thought so they never would have agreed to join. Oklahoma will meet with no success for the same reason, they have no right of secession so they have no actual rights not granted to them by the Federal Government, the exact opposite of what the Constitution says. States rights is now a dead issue, this will never change short of an actual revolution.
The recent SCOTUS ruling concerning Guantanamo prisoners would seem to indicate that allegiance to the Constitution is as dead as the Dodo.
A friend of mine retired from the Army after an interesting career as a paratrooper, etc. He taught special op courses, among other things and so did with such excellence that he is regularly invited to staff officer dining in events.
He quietly observed, one day, that a rifle is designed to kill one person at a time.
H went on to observe that any grocery store could supply materials sufficient to make devices able to kill rather more than one person at a time.
America is still a land of enough citizens who believe themselves to be sovereign citizens who delegated power to government according to the Constitution. They also know that said delegation was, is, and must always be, subject to good behavior.
It is my opinion, that since elections are far cheaper than violent revolution, that we will continue to vote the bachelor’s children out of office instead of shooting them.
“It is my opinion, that since elections are far cheaper than violent revolution, that we will continue to vote the bachelors children out of office instead of shooting them.”
Agree, but it is nice to have the option.
Bump
“Agree, but it is nice to have the option.”
I think that having the option is essential. True, a rifle is not going to do well against a squar level attack by properly armed and trained soldiers.
However, it IS true that when Lithuania secceded, Gorby made one of his four demands “Turn In Your Private Arms.”
The Lithuanians refused. The rest is history.
Soon, the socialism movement in America will also be history.
Why? Because when America realizes that socialism means poverty, they WILL reject both socialism and those in both parties who are seen as socialists.
Today, both Democrats and Republicans are equally unhappy with their party leaders and the candidates.
The State of Virginia had the right of succession, but
look how far that got them.
I’m in an am not that far away.
Have family in Broken Arrow. Lovely little town, grown up a lot in the past few years. Love Ron’s hamburgers!!
We moved five years ago. I’d die for a Ron’s Hamburger!
I know! When I visit my sis we always go to Ron’s within the first day or so!
You misspelled that...
r u willing to 2 go to 2 jail 4 that point?
“And may the Lord God and HIS anointed one, Jesus Christ, be with them as they take their rightful power back from the liberal communists of the federal government and the liberal America hating judges nationwide.”
A Big Amen to that!
interesting, wish NC would follow and do the same.
Thanks for that lol
i just figure if im gonna freebase the lingo might as well mix and match.
rotflmao
Hey I didn’t say that I am responding to somebody else’s assertion.
>>>>Oklahoma Declares Sovereignty
It’s an interesting idea; but I don’t think this is going anywhere anytime soon...<<
Are you willing to bet your freedom that it’s not? I know that’s what they are hoping for. They want us to sit on our butt in our easy chairs and let them smoothly slip our Constitution out from under us. With the Constitution goes the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights.
This globalist socialism idea has been many years in the works. Americans have too many rights and liberties. Ask the UN diplomats and they’ll tell you that we need to live under socialism where the government tells us what the rules will be. The idea that there is a loaded rifle available for every citizen scares the crap out of our elected leaders.
