$15 cup of coffee

A coffee shop in Washington is offering a cup of coffee for $15. That’s right, $15.

The cup of coffee is brewed from the rare Panama Ezmarelda coffee bean. It’s called the best bean in the world. A roaster in Vancouver paid big bucks to buy 50 pounds of the bean. The coffee shop paid $100 for a half-pound bag that makes only 8 cups of the coffee.

Gail Rothrock joined the $15 coffee club. She says the coffee has a tropical fruit type flavor coming out of it.

(I purposely don't buy it if it's fair trade. Out of principle.)

LOL. I'm with you. In fact, I want coffee that states on the label that rainforest trees were cleared for growing the beans.

It better come with a certificate of authenticity.

I mean, if its so rare, how would you know its the Real McCoy...er...Ezmerelda?.

It might be a cheap Blue Mountain substitute.

No, that is Kopi Luwak. That sells for about £50.00 or $98.16 per cup.

If that woman dumped sugar into that coffee, I will personally beat her with a bag of coffee grinds...

I have to admit, I’ve become a big lover of a good cup of coffee, but paying obscene amounts for said cup...not so much my thing.

Wonder if Cigar Dave will be making an appearance for this cup of coffee. He’s based out of Tampa, if I recall.

Never heard of Peet’s, where is it distributed? I also like Cain’s used to be out of Oklahoma City but I think they moved to Houston, Tx. I can’t get it here.

I like my Bodum French press also. The flavor just kicks your taste buds into over drive. Great stuff. I use it to make a strong tea (loose leaf) for iced tea.

Sure it was. That’s what gives it the tropical fruity flavor.

Does Maxwell House have whole bean? I stopped buying ground coffee after reading about “how many parts per what ever” of ground coffee were alowed to be bugs - like cockroaches.

No thanks. I will stick to my whole bean Eight O’Clock Coffee ground fresh each morning at home.

Which, I notice, has gone up almost buck a bag in the last few weeks.

A little off topic, but one of my favorite (although corny)jokes:

A panhandler approaches a pedestrian on a sidewalk and asks:

"Hey buddy, can you spare $100 for a cup of coffee?"

..to which the pedestrain inquires:

"Isn't $100 for a cup of coffee a little "EXPENSIVE"???"

The panhandler replies:

"Nah...I'm just puttin' all my begs in one "ask-it"!!

(...ok...back to the thread topic....)

Eight o'clock beans are the best I have found. Better than the fancy costly ones.

I think that Peet's is mostly found in the Pacific Northwest.

I'm definitely familiar with Cain's because I used to live in OKC. I used to buy Cain's all the time.
