In case anyone is coming to the thread late, and would like to see some of the news coverage from today, there are a LOT of videos - including the one caught by the storm chasers at MSNBC/Today Show’s website.

If you click on the title just to the left of Olberman’s photo that says “Scouts honor put to test” the video player will come up and there are a ton of videos on this that come up in the playlist... Some good interviews with some of the boys who were there last night, too. I didn’t watch all the coverage, but the storm chaser’s video in particular is pretty amazing as they were literally INSIDE the tornado.
Pahuk Pride is the Mid America Council name for the NYLT course. Camp Cedars in Cedar Bluff Nebraska and Little Sioux Scout Ranch have areas that have been identified as encampments of the Pahuk Clan of the Sioux, hence the relation and name of the program.
Here is a link to the 2007 flyer for the program. It is an intense leadership program aimed at the ‘best of the best’.

I have been a Scout leader since my son was a Tiger Cub. He is now 26 and an Eagle. I am currently the summer camp director for Camp Cedars here in Nebraska. We were under the same storm that struck LSSR on Wednesday night. I have 2 staffers for my camp that were released to staff the camp at LSSR. Families of both scouts have contacted me to tell me they were coming back to camp Sunday, after they collected their equipment and new uniforms from the Scout Center. They lost everything... Council is outfitting them tomorrow as well as the other scouts that were there.
Keep us all in your prayers..... We have been receiving offers of help in many forms from around the world...
Scouting is a Worldwide program and your family is everytwhere....
