Yes, Obama is an American citizen. His mother was a U.S. citizen, and he was born on U.S. soil (in Honolulu). And before anyone asks, Hawaii became a state in 1959, so yes, he was born in the U.S.

This is so silly. Lets spend our time and effort concentrating on the real reasons Obama should not be elected. This kind of nuttiness doesn't do a thing to add credibility to our cause.

McCain was born on a Military base , and that my friend is as American as you can get.

It is very true that American Military bases overseas are considered U.S. soil. It is a somewhat rare occurance but the question remains as to whether he was born in a hospital on the base or in a local hospital. It does happen from time to time that dependants of U.S. servicemembers are sent to local hospitals for various reasons. My daughter was born in Germany while I was in Desert Storm. Because the 97th General hospital in Frankfurt was anticipating a possible influx of wounded due to the war, my wife was sent to a local hospital to give birth. My wife was a German citizen and my daughter currently holds dual citizenship (until she turns 18) as a result of being born in a German hospital.

Did the terms of the treaty with Panama make the Canal Zone US Territory? Or was it Panama territory that was merely controlled by the US? The question doesn't matter for McCain since both parents were US citizens.

Being born on a military base isn't enough to grant citizenship. For example, if a German went into labor and the nearest hospital was on a US base in Germany, the child would be a German citizen, not a US citizen (assuming the father is German too).

As I found out (and this came from a post by FARS on another thread and was taken from: THIS SITE), it is not about whether he was born in Hawaii or not...it is about whether his birht and the age of his mother and her whereabouts for the prior five years qualifies him for the definition on natural-born.

It is a very interesting question and set of circumstances.

It is also one that will be reacted to very emotionally, very negatively, and perhaps even violently, by his ardents idolaters.

His birth aside (which should be looked into), Barack Hussein Obama is the apex of the hate-America, domestic enemy in this country. His election as president would be the greatest coup any enemy has ever scored against this country and could easily lead to the worst, horrific disaster in our nation's history.
