Not much of a choice there for me. You are welcome to trust McCain’s words over his actions of the last few years. I cannot lower my standards that much.

Exactly. I'm struggling to decide if this country can survive 4 years of Obama and still be salvageable. Once I have the answer to that, I'll decide if I'm voting for McCain or one of the other conservative choices.

If McCain gets support, then the next time around, the backlash against republicans and “conservatives” (even though he’s not really one) will be so great, you’ll get an even stronger liberal candidate in there...one who has a very strong mandate and likely even larger Congressional leads.

This country survived Warren G. Harding and Bill Clinton. It will survive Barack Obama. Here's a few reasons for my view:

1. The Constitution of the United States.

2. Our military has by far the most combat experience, and greatest lethality, of any military on the planet.

3. Millions of weapons in the hands of private citizens.

The collective brilliance of the Founding Fathers amazes me more every day: second amendment, tenth amendment, electoral college, to name a few of my favorites.

To compare the current leadership in DC to our Founding Fathers is like comparing "Piss Christ" to Rembrandt's "Night Watch", or Michelangelo's work in the Sistene Chapel.
