I did not *blame* anyone. I merely stated the obvious.

A vote for McCain in 2008 is a vote for liberalism in 2012.

To refuse to vote for John McCain in the face of the threat of Obama being President of the United States is like starving because the fruit in front of you has seeds in it.

Well said brother,

When we are pinned down in our foxholes and there is incoming dropping all around our SZ, we don’t send half our forces back to the rear, or tell them they aren’t soldier enough to fight an adequate battle.

My biggest problem with McQueeg is his tendency to “Desert” his own ranks when we need him most. Which leads me to conclude that he was never with us in the first place.

I plan to vote for McCain even though Fred Thompson was my first choice. McCain has some positions on issues that I don’t agree with, but at least my vote will not be a vote for radical socialism with Marxism at its roots.

The problem with your “Guilt Trip” approach is, you fail to consider that we are as outnumbered by the Democrats at the polls this time, as we were in ‘06.

Follow the numbers and the money. All available Conservatives could show up and vote the “McMaverick” ticket and will still lose. There is simply too much propaganda against us this time. (Look closely at public opinion polls.)

Just because we lose a battle does not mean we lose the war.

And if a liberal with an (R) can win without conservatives, then maybe conservatives should re-examine whether the are the "silent majority" as is repeatedly claimed.

Well, at least you're honest. Unlike so many here. I've been saying that for a long time, that we are no longer the majority and that's why McCain is flippant about us. I think the events of the past several years and elections proves that.

The time for insisting on principle was during the primaries. We had no viable candidate to win enough primary votes to prevail.

Thank you for succinctly putting that into words. The crybaby crap here is embarrassing.

“Please spare us the “education” about McNutcase.”

I cited important legislation. Why would you put education in quotes when I was referring to important legislation?

You are very close to the truth on this issue. I’m sure that McCain headquarters are getting “internals” on what is going on in the electorate.

Principled Conservatives are rapidly dwindling. Many have been drinking the moderate Koolaid in order to influence the general electorate, but the opposite has happened.

The general electorate has caused us to lose our direction in the process.

Dear Ingtar,

I remember what he said about Justice Alito.

But you said that he compared Justices Roberts and Ginsburg, saying that their both “constructionists.”

Doubts about Justice Alito are hardly the same thing as an endorsement of Ms. Ginsburg.

I vividly remember the interview where Mr. GIULIANI said something very similar - that both Justice Roberts and Justice Ginsburg were good and acceptable choices for the Court. If I'd previously have heard that Mr. McCain had said something like that, I'd have remembered it.

In that I followed the primary season reasonably closely, I find it hard to believe that I'd have missed that one.

Perhaps you're referring to Mr. Giuliani’s statement saying that both Mr. Roberts and Ms. Ginsburg were examples of good, fine, acceptable justices?

Thanks,

Or how about...

To refuse to vote for John McCain in the face of the threat of Obama being President of the United States is like starving because the fruit in front of you is poisoned.

To insist on voting for John McCain in the face of the threat of Obama being President of the United States is like eating crap because it’s in front of you, rather than going hungry while you get real food.

“Not voting for Bob Barr is voting for Big Government.”

Not only would you be throwing away your vote by voting for someone that has no chance, you’d be voting for a terrorist appeasing surrender monkey.

Sorry, incredibly stupid analogy. But if you want to make it honest, you have to change it to that it's like "eating crap because it's in front of you, rather than risking death while waiting for real food."

I'm not willing to let my Country fall under the likes of Obama. I'm sorry you are.

“Our best hope is to wait for this economy to melt down and the Democrats get the blame by a very angry and misled public.”

How much has gas gone up since they won in ‘06? They aren’t taking any of the blame. Their water carriers in the MSM are not going to suddenly change their stripes.

Recall that (the Ginsburg/Roberts comparison) was a White House talking point at the time, in arguing for confirmation (i.e., "Republicans voted for Ginsburg, so Dems should vote for Roberts, since they are both constructionists.").

Mr. McCain wants to reach out and remove $4,000 from my pocket each year for his cap and trade scam.

Do you think this massive redistribution of wealth to crooked businesses and socialists is worthy of my vote? I won’t mention the thousands of left-wing fascist federal bureaucrats infesting themselves into every inch of our lives.

Go ahead and justify that and convince me that Mr. McCain is “conservative.”

Dear Gondrring,

I don't recall it that way.

It was more like, “The Senate should give broad deference to the President's Supreme Court nominees. A Senator should vote for a nominee even if he doesn't agree with the nominee's judicial philosophies and views, as long as the nominee is qualified. After all, Republicans voted for Mr. Clinton's nominees even though they did not agree with their judicial philosophies and views. Democratic Senators should do likewise for Mr. Bush's nominees.”

That's not at all the same as “they're both constructionists,” whatever that means.
