Dear Freepers: It is Time to Support John McCain
June 5 2008 | jveritas

Posted on 06/05/2008 6:25:12 PM PDT by jveritas

In this election we have very a clear choice to make.

A choice between Victory against Islamic Terrorism or surrender to our terrorist enemy.

A choice between free market capitalist economy or socialism.

A choice between constructionist judges or liberal judges who legislate from the bench.

A choice between Life for the unborn or abortion on demand going wild.

A choice between lower taxes or higher taxes.

A choice between small government or big government.

A choice between John McCain or Barack Obama.

Let us choose John McCain. A Patriot, a war hero, and would be an excellent President.

God Bless America and our brave troops.

You have a minimum of two SCOTUS appointments coming your way. That’s a hell of alot longer than 4 years. Hillary will be back in 2012.

Aren’t they like the same entity?

There’s virtually no difference in ideology/recent past actions of the two candidates cited. Both are liberals and both will create havoc greater than anything Jimmy Carter ever did.

Thomas Sowell blew the argment above out-of-the-water just today, in fact. I'll associate myself with his work, but I certainly won't defend McCain's shortcomings.

Painfully Inadequate [Sowell on the Election]

Do not discount winning in Iraq Ingtar, that is no small thing at all to consider, we can win with Mad Jon, or we can lose with the Obamao, the choice is “ours” to make.

And it really is that simple.

I've thought long and hard about this. McCain is going to have to win without my vote. I'm sure there are plenty "independent" and liberal democrats out there that will support him. After all, that is his target base.

In protest, I'll write in D. Hunter and F. Thompson.

Someone wake me up from this nightmare.

Here's a reality check. We are not helpless. Whoever gets elected, we have some ability to mitigate the damage they do in Washington at the State and local level.

We are a republic, and the republic will survive if we have the balls to act like one.

I want Obama, Hillary and John McCain yard signs, so I can draw “not” on each one.

You have a minimum of two SCOTUS appointments coming your way.

I should trust McCain to fill them with somoene even moderate, why? All three of the remaining candidates have proven they will throw any principle, any person, any group of voters, or even their country under the bus in order to gain personal prestige. None of the three gets my vote.

I just thought of one advantage to McCain. As a Republican (even in name only), his funding comes from the RNC, thus, we have more power to hurt him in the pocketbook. We can have more influence against bad legislation via our donations. If he supports bad legislation, we can shift our donations to PACs that support our cause. If he makes good choices, we can reward with donations.

We don't have that leverage with Osama, er, I mean Obama.

I’d vote for Hunter Thompson. “I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me. “

The problem will be that the act of staying home will be misinterpreted as the Republicans needing to nominate a more liberal candidate.

How’d 2006 work out for you “pricipled” brats.
