The only real obstacle is the fundraising. People throw money at Obama like panties to Julio Iglesias.

Other than that, you have to remember a few things that throw things in McCain’s favor, strongly:

1. At least a portion of pissed off Hillary supporters, who are probably racially motivated, will stay home or vote McCain. Some will fall into line and vote for Obama, but we don’t know how many.

2. McCain is popular in Massachusetts. Dunno why, but he is. Mass isn’t as much a Democrat state as it is an Independent one that leans Democrat. Same for most of New England.

3. In OH, PA, and MI (and WV as well) there are a lot of Democrat-leaning blue collar whites who won’t vote for a black man, let alone one with Muslim roots. Trust me on this, I’m not saying it’s right of them to vote based on race, but if it saves our Republic from a Marxist, I’m all for it. Yes, folks, it will be racist DEMOCRATS that cost Obama the election.

4. Hispanics. Hispanics and Blacks aren’t know for being buddies as a group.

Those factors will tip the election strongly in McCain’s favor.

It’s either gonna be McCain in a squeaker, or McCain in a landslide...those are the only two choices on this test and one answer is going to be right.

I’m very much expecting an outcome similar to Clinton/Dole. After all, we have the teflon, charismatic, hope candidate Clinton-like Obama vs. the gruff, old, Republican who will be defined by the media as he will not define himself Dole II: McCain.

I agree with everything you say but the likelihood of a McCain squeaker. That seems to me to be less likely, ironically, than an Obama blowout. This is a purple election. McCain wants to win with Democrat/Independent votes, and Obama did better against Hillary in red states than in blue ones. So the election is actually purple; if, Heaven forefend, Obama catches fire he could take quite a few red states.

It seems to me that too many indepent/Democratic whites will, in the privacy of the voting booth, reciprocate the racism of Obama for him to have much chance in the general election (as opposed to pre-election polls) for Obama to come close. But if he comes close, he is more than likely to win big.

A squeaker seems pretty unlikely in this scenario. A purple election is an unstable election.

Do you really think that Hillary supporters will go to McCain??? Sorry, but I totally disagree. She and Bubba will campaign non-stop for this guy...as will Gore... as will a cancer-stricken-recovering Ted Kennedy... as will Kerry... and Edwards... as will tons and tons of superstars- sports, movie/tv stars...

How can McCain possibly deal with that onslaught, especially if he won't fight back???

Ever see the movie 300? Where they turn back the legions of enemies time and again... At the end, they finally succumb as the enemies are far too powerful and numerous...

Right now, McCain's even to slightly below in all polls... Amazingly... it's only a matter of time before he suffers a fate, and drubbing, far worse than Dole...

Let’s stop being queasy about an inexperienced over-promoted elitist black extreme leftwinger with a muslim father and stepfather who went an exclusive private school before he got affirmative action slots at Ivy league schools not appealling to blue collar whites as if it is the white man’s fault or that race can be factor when picking ‘diversity’ candidates, it can be a wonderful factor when 94% of blacks voted for Obama over Clinton, but his polygamist Muslim Kenyan socialist Dad cant be a factor for those white doubting that Obama has clue 1 in representing us Typical White Persons.

Faulkneresque rant over...
