WASHINGTON (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton has told congressional colleagues she would be open to becoming Barack Obama's vice presidential nominee, saying she would consider it if it would help Democrats win the White House. Clinton, a New York senator, made the comment on a conference call with other New York lawmakers Tuesday, according a participant on the call.

The senator's remarks came in response to a question from Democratic Rep. Nydia Velazquez who said she believed the best way for Obama to win over key voting blocs, including Hispanics, would be for him to choose Clinton as his running mate.

"I am open to it," Clinton replied, if it would help the party's prospects in November.

"I think McCain can still win."

Now, the missing conservative base becomes essential.

Everything I see says they aren't coming back. Ask GOP Big Tent RINO Central how their mailers and phone calls are going.

It's a disaster.

Unless McLame has the sense to pick a Black conservative veep

I don't see how that would help. It would look like an obvious move to pander to the Black vote and I don't see any liberals crossing over to vote McCain because of it.

I think you forget that in states like Florida....most of the Repubbie population has moved out. Minority population is taking over....and they usually vote Democrat. Plus, Crist gave the felon the right to vote in florida—more Dems. They are super motivated......because of the war and becauase Obama will give all the black people 40 acres and a mule (is what they think -let’s not pretend).

Ask GOP Big Tent RINO Central how their mailers and phone calls are going.

I got the mailer today that looks like it came from the Social Security Administration.

I decided not to give them any more money when I got the one that looked like it was from the IRS. Geez, they are idiots.

Operation Chaos brought up things about Obama that would never come out. Caling Limbaugh names is immature....you sound like a Dem. And Hillarys’ ass is bigger than Rush’s.

The 'Rats are going to win OH. The globalist-"free" trade message that the 'Pubs are pushing is sheer suicide here. People out of work or fear being so don't want to hear a message that they perceive says "losing your job to outsourcing is good for you".

Losing OH puts Hillobama in the WH, lacking any other changes. If McCain can get PA to offset OH, then it's a new ballgame. But we're also looking at a wobbly VA and CO. VA may come back our way if it's a Hillobama ticket, but CO looks shaky. I also think IA and NM will go back to the 'Rats. That gives the 'Rats 272 and they're in. It might come down to NM.

>What States will they win that Kerry couldn’t?
Ohio, New Mexico, Colorado for starters

>This would make the South untouchable.
It already is.

I understand that the Obama camp replied with “That is mighty white of her!”

I don’t know what part of Florida you live in, but the GOP is stronger here now than it was in 1996, or even 2000.

I think alot of people are in denial because they hate the thought of an Obama win.

The guy is generating huge excitement and interest whether you or I like it or not, or deny it.

McCain has the disdain of many conservatives. And he is boring as hell. If the GOP was going to divide the party at least they could have picked someone with some life and energy in them. Instead, they picked the lackluster McCain.

Idiots.

"I decided not to give them any more money..."

I cut them off cold two years ago--not a damn dime since. I send their communications--every one--back unopened, even if I have to use my own postage, which is often the case.

Now, we donate to individual candidates but only the ones who are verified conservatives. No more money for RINOs.

Are you nuts?

This would be spun as massive change.

Black presidential candidate, female Veep...

How much change do you want?
Plus, it would appease the segment who have racial problems.

Personally, I think something like this has been a dun deal for a while. But everyone kept saying no way, it’ll never happen, blah, blah, blah...
