Reporting from KTVQ in Billings
Chelsea Clinton told supporters in Billings that the country needs to do more with gun control laws, during the final visit on her two day tour campaigning on her mother's behalf in the Magic City.
During a question and answer session before seniors and other supporters at the Yellowstone County Council on Aging Office Friday morning, Chelsea said, "We also need to do more with gun control. And my mom supports- naturally what she supported in New York. Which is: we have different gun control laws in New York City than we do in upstate New York."
The younger Clinton made her remarks in a response to a question from Yellowstone County Commissioner Bill Kennedy (D), who asked her what efforts could be made to get more cops on the street.
Kennedy introduced Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton before her speech in Billings on Tuesday night, where he said that Senator Clinton would protect Montanans Second Amendment rights.
The former First Daughter as standard practice does not do interviews with the media, so the News Station's Aaron Flint was unable to ask Chelsea Clinton a follow up question regarding the remarks.
Clinton spoke to the Council on Aging, taking questions for nearly an hour about her mother's position on the issues, addressing Social Security, Medicare, and education.
She touted her mother's support for universal health coverage, a position none of the other presidential candidates hold.
Clinton did not mention Barack Obama or Republican candidate John McCain during the remarks, but she did throw out several critiques of the Bush Administration for what she describes as "a lack of fiscal responsibility".
Hillary Clinton's challenger, Barack Obama, has also come under attack by Montana Republican Party Chairman Erik Iverson recently, who says Obama voted to ban shotguns for use during hunting.
Montanans will have their final say in the primary election on Tuesday, June 3rd.

Here is the full remark that was made on the topic of gun control
Chelsea Clinton: "We also need to do more with gun control. And my mom supports- naturally what she supported in New York. Which is: we have different gun control laws in New York City than we do in upstate New York. I think a lot of people think of New York City as just being New York, but actually the majority of New York State, not only land mass wise, but also people wise, lives outside New York City- and we have very different gun control laws in New York City as what we do in upstate New York."

Chelsea Clinton campaigned for the first time on Thursday in Billings, but she told a crowd that she's no stranger to the Big Sky state.
Chelsea talked with Montana-Wyoming tribal leaders, visited the YWCA, the Clinton campaign headquarters, and then ended the day at the Montana Brewing Company.
Chelsea Clinton has some ties to Montana as she worked on a cattle ranch near Grass Range while she was in college.
She says that Hillary Clinton is the strongest candidate for the Democrats, and the best for President. Chelsea also told supporters and others at the Montana Brewing Company she's proud to campaign for her mother.
She started the event with a short presentation and took a few questions, but she answered most of the queries by visiting people at their tables.
Chelsea talked about her mother's "prevention first" legislation to decrease teen pregnancy.
"Mandate funding those programs we know work, ensuring that honest age appropriate sexual education is back in our schools and on the national institutes of health web site and on other government health web sites, but she hasn't even been able to get that through a Democratic Congress."
Chelsea Clinton will visit the Yellowstone County Council on Aging at its new office in Westpark Plaza beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Following the visit she heads to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

(from May 29, 2008)
Montana's June 3rd primary is less than a week away and the candidates are hitting the Treasure state hard.
Chelsea Clinton made her first visit to Big Sky Country to campaign for her mother Hillary.
Chelsea is making several stops in Billings on Thursday and Friday. She has visited 39 states while campaigning for her mother.
At Chelsea's first stop in Billings she talked with Montana-Wyoming Tribal leaders and then it was off to the YWCA.
Chelsea wanted to visit the YWCA because her mother came here in the early to mid 1990's. She looked at child care and even read the book "Giraffe's Can't dance."
The Senator's campaign staff says the children's issues are important to Mrs. Clinton.
She talked with the Y's staff about all programs for children and families.
After the Y, Chelsea visited the Clinton Campaign headquarters to talk with volunteers. At a stop in the Montana Brewing Company, she will talk to young professionals.
Friday, Chelsea will meet with members of the Yellowstone County Council on Aging starting at 9:00.
Is Webb around somewhere?
Someone call me? And no, Howdy Doody was not my father. He was my uncle.
After seeing photos of hellry in PR, I'd say Chelsie is a lefty and her momma is a hefty.
LOL!
Nothing makes me laugh more than freepers with guns and when you add Chels in Montana talking about gun control to the mix,,,well, I lknew this would be an hilarious thread.
We need a schedule for chels:
Monday,,New Orleans, talk about the dangers of parades, fattening food and music
Tuesday...Hawaii,,the dangers of the sun and surf and travel over the ocean
Wednesday...DC,,the dangers of expense accounts and lobbying
Thursday...Mississippi,,the dangers of long family stories
Show for her 6 figure hedge fund job?
No more than Kerry has to put in any work hours at the Senate. No more than Kennedy has to be sober on the job.
“I’m my mommy’s village parrot. I say what she tells me to say...or I’m outa the will”.
Why, oh why, does anyone care what this vapid little b***h has to say about anything?
And of course, in Louisiana, it’s obvious that we need government intervention to battle Bobby Jindal’s new Tasty Hot Palak Ghosh Etouffee!
Go with the 12 guage. It gives the wife a chance for an insurance company-funded remodeling.
Actually, Chelsea’s politics are a prime justification for doing more with BIRTH control.
The only “ranching” Chelesa has experienced is herding pork into the family bank account....well maybe herding her mother away from “ranch dressing” and her step dad away from a bunch of old cows.
I am afraid that there would be nowhere to post with a new fairness doctrine in place that would be sure to include “internet fairness”.
> That is, “I get to speak, but *you* don’t get to ask me questions.”
“I think, like, that’s none of your business?”
;-)
The dumbing-down of the Politician has begun. The New Barbie has spoken!
I wish someone could have asked her if it would be ok to break with the Constution on that silly 1st amendment of “free speech”.
I think they should take it away from Berkley Ca. but just them.
no, wait! maybe San Francisco too, they are pretty bad with their rights there. Oh, and what about Austin TEXAS? just a few places don’t get the “right” of freedom of speech.
It is either in the Constution or not. For the whole country or not!
What can you expect from a daughter raised by socialists?
That’s not surprising and it just goes to show how utterly clueless that these people are. Maybe that crap sells within 50 miles of the East and West coastline in the US, but everywhere else, its pretty much a campaign killer.
And if that happens, I have a feeling that Montana will have a rather large influx of new residents.
I’ll be among them.
So Chelsea’s security personnel will no longer carry guns?
That waa what the talk radio host was saying he was going to do. It was a new guy on the radio that I had never heard before.
What you are seeing is the absolute best the make-up team of handlers can do, and probably not her own work.
As for being a leftie, compare her stance on issues with 1968 and find that the entirety of the political system has shifted so far left that the 'middle of the road' is out somewhere past the port side ditch. An obvious leftie now is farther left than their predecessors could have hoped for.
Crap, McCain is...
