Besides, depending on exactly what was said and how Obama and wife react now, there is really no predicting the public reaction. If the Republicans are seen as promoting the tape, it could garner sympathy for Michelle, and it could backfire on us.

I would have thought the Obama campaign would have released a statement condemning this rumor. This is an easy one to swat down if not true.

By this "logic", Bush's failure to release a statement condemning rumors about him being a drunken cokehead "proves" that it's true.
