Is it possible that California could go for a Republican for the first time since 1988? One of the cable news networks reported last night that McCain had come within a few percentage points of B. Hussein Obama in CA.
What could make this happen?
#1. The referendum on the ballot that would reverse the State Supreme Court Ruling on same-sex marriage. This will bring Conservatives out in droves. (Hopefully out of their hatred for McCain they wont vote for B. Hussein Obama.)
#2. The craziness that keeps going on in B. Hussein's church. I've got to believe that the majority of Californians are not crazy enough to align their politicl ideology with those nuts; the latest being Fr. Pfleger. Like most other Americans, the majority of Californians have got to realize that B. Hussein is the product of 20 years of indoctrination by preachers who hate White people.
#3. The fact that many Californians who would vote Democratic believe that B. Hussein is a closet Muslim who would be sympathetic to Islamo-Fascists; his autobiography indicates as much.
SIDE BAR: If, God forbid, there is another Terrorist Attack on our soil before November 4, Cindy McCain can start measuring for drapes in the White House.
#4. The large Hispanic vote in CA. There is a wide gulf between the Mexicans and the Blacks in America. They just dont like or trust each other. The only thing that might offset this would be if Bill Richardson is on the ticket in the VEEP spot. And...
#5. There's a lot of ticked-off, Hillary-supporting, women out there who, if they just stay home, along with many men who feel that Hillary has been dissed by the media and the Obama Campaign, can give McCain a 5% point gain.
Hey, it could happen!
Nope.
Many voters in my area don't think Feinstein, Boxer and Pelosi are liberal enough.
Do you live in Tehran?
In order for McCain to take Kalifornia, he would have to spout his “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” crapola again, and at that point I wouldn’t care if he won or not.
Is it? (Depending on how many of which constituency Obama alienates with his VP pick.)
It’s possible. McCain vs. Obama certainly widens the playing field for both parties. My concern is that McCain won’t have enough money to really campaign in California and he might have to spend more than he would like in states like Georgia with large black populations. I think it is more likely that the electoral map from 2000 and 2004 stays about the same, but McCain gets a lot bigger share of the popular vote and picks off a few smaller states like New Hampshire.
This is a joke, right?
Well, my father, a lifelong Democrat, is voting for McCain (at least Pop is consistant!). Mom usually goes along with him, so that is two ‘Hillary Dems’ in California for McCain.
Social conservatives who came out in droves in 2004 to vote on a ballot initiative, swung Ohio to Bush which turned out to be the state he needed to be reelected. I can definately see the same thing happening even in Califoria. In fact, lets try to get that issue on ballots across the U.S. McCain would win in a landslide.
I think McCain has a shot. Hillary crushed Obama here.
Arnold won big in 2006. I think it depends on how big a joke Obama turns out to be.
Its good to talk with Californians just to make sure we outside the state have a good understanding of what goes on there.
I spent almost a month out there this spring and about nobody was paying attention.
That being said, McCain has an outside shot at winning CA. He also has a shot at winning PA too.
Not a chance.
Look at the ‘04 results. Kerry won CA by 1.2 million votes.
600,000 votes was the margin he won LA county and 600,000 votes was the total margin combined he won the 5 largest bay area counties of San Francisco, Alameda, Santa Clara, Contra Costa, San Mateo counties.
Kerry took San Francisco county 220,000 to 40,000.
Just 6 counties need to go the same as ‘04 and McCain will be slaughtered here.
The bay area commies are entrenched, it doesn’t matter who the “D” is they’ll vote D for dumba**.
Yep. It's how Sanchez "beat" B-1 Bob Dornan.
We knew there was massive fraud, had proof, and the 'pubiecan national party didn't lift a finger to challenge it.
Actually come to think of it, they did life one finger. For Dornan...
Well, he is a Kennedy, by marriage...
LOL! OUCH! (and true...)
..if he loses CA by anything less than 10 points, I’ll eat my hat—with salsa...
If ‘ol “B1” Bob hadn’t run for president and instead paid more attention to his own district he would have won. Too bad his ego got the better of him.
