Yes, and she’s a GOVERNOR! Had to make real decisions, not some politickin’ Senator dweeb. COME ON SARAH!!! Damned straight.
Richardson certainly would beef up Obama's "lack" of experience. I never understood why the dem's didn't go for Richardson. He certainly was the most qualified and most experienced. The one thing I "think" might make this unlikely is their seeing him too much like a Cheney VP.
I don't want either candidate to win. For the first time in my voting life, I don't have a horse in this race. No matter which I might vote for, I'd lose.
For all those who think a conservative VP candidate will somehow make McCain "palatable," riddle me this: when was the last time a VP charted the course of party policy? What was the last ticket in which the VP was "a mover and a shaker" in terms of platform and executive decisions? When was the last time people got excited and said, "I'm proud to cast this vote, knowing that VP ______ will be wielding the executive power?"
The answer is never. As Rush Limbaugh has said in past elections, "People don't pick their vote based on VP candidates." McCain choosing a conservative is not going to change that to any great degree. The job of the VP is to back up and carry out the policies of the president -- and to be there as the next-in-line should anything happen to the president.
The people who say "I'll vote McCain if he chooses a conservative VP" are REALLY saying this:
"I sure hope that geezer dies before his first term is up."If they were intellectually honest, they'd admit that.
So, if Sarah goes along with this and McCain loses, she's damaged goods for the future. If McCain wins, she's forced to compromise her principles (because she won't be the top dog), and then loses her conservative "street cred" in 2012. There is no winning option for Sarah Palin.
There are so few real conservatives left in the GOP -- they should not taint themselves by associating with McCain.
No kidding. (Yes, that's Sarah Palin.)
1) some hope he dies
2)some think the VP will have influence(not likely).
I hope there is slim chance that he isnt even picked, I think it can happen we need to hound the RNC.
If any conservative is picked to run as vp for Mccain and serves a full term , I would not be happy to vote for mccain's vp unless I had seen several televised discussion between Mccain and his VP disagreeing. Vp: sir, I do not think that bill is a very good I strongly advise you do not pass it...ect.
I am not scared of Obama he will be 1 term president at most and if lucky impeached. Some here are content on keeping Rino values alive.
WHEN was the last time that is was SO favorable for the Dems to win... that it became possible for US to win...?? It is only because McCain is so pleasing to So many on the other side that this is possible..
But he is old.. SO his choice as VP IS more critical than ever in our history...
IF we can get a good conservative, who can also seal THIS election... WHY cannot we get excited at least about this? OUR VP is very likely to be the next President AFTER President McCain (I know... that hurts...do you all like the sound or thought of President Obama better).
Please, Let us take the victories where can,... and expand them as we go..
Think about this..
Thanks Liberty. Sometimes I feel like I'm banging my head against the wall....
I also keep hearing that "McCain is going to appoint conservative judges." My query to those folks is: "How many 'conservative' judges (whether federal or SCOTUS) do you think McCain is going to get past a Senate with 55-65 Democrats, as well as a bunch of RINOs fawning at the liberals' feet?"
The answer is ZERO.
As an Alaskan, I can see only one advantage to having Palin as VP—we would be rid of her. People on this board are out of their minds. The only thing Palin has going for her is pandering to the media to enhance great ratings. (That fits with McCain’s style, though.) Other than that, she’s an airhead. She is gradually selling out one conservative idea after another. And she refuses to work with the Republicans in the legislature. They universally despise her—I have talked to many personally. No leadership. Yuck! Get real.
Hey, joe this election really would be a slam dunk for the GOP if they’d run a good candidate. I guess they figured they’d give the old man his dues, think it will be a squeaker because the fracturing the dem party. Hell if they would’ve picked a real conservative the win would be 60/40 I believe now its going to be 51/49. Obama continues to step on it with wright and communist as rallys. but really none of us like obama anyway do you think communist and wright matter to the dems? Its like them trying to make an issue out of Hagee and Parsley I really dont care what preachers say, altho I agree with Parsley.
so in other words, Huckabee/Palin would be a good fit in the RINO party. lol
If she’s pro-life, pro-guns and pro-western culture and pro-constitution and has some metaphorical balls then she might not be too bad
but with young kids....i’m not so sure....
that’s about my view
let’s hope he picks someone to his right
As someone who sister works in Juneau for Bartlett Hospital . I have heard the exact opposite. In fact, she does not let the pork crowd get there way .
tell me how mccain will stop it. I dont think anyone can, it needs to happen. No one will rise up until things get bad. I hate to see it but I am sick of waiting. Holding out hope that some savior with an r by his name will save us. It wont happen. This is something we have to do on our own.
The topic of this thread is this Alaskan woman, and no need to re-hash McC ad nauseum.
All that I had read was the she is a good conservative.
Just that based on what I had read, she looks great... IF NOT, Please inform, and Please be true...
You better real scared of Obama . Are you this uninformed and clueless about who is funding him and there real goals ? As you whine about a moderate Repb .These radical leftist such as ACT, ACORN, Code Pink , Radical Far left Union Unions , Moveon.org. ,and Farrakhan are out there working to get him elected and you are not scared ? Who the hell is going to impreach him ? The Congress will be controlled by fellow radical democrats funded by the same radical socialist. This same left wing Dem party drove out Joe Lieberman, the former VP candidate in 2000 !
I live in Juneau and am deeply involved in the politics of this state. If one reads the papers and watches TV—the MSM —then one will love Palin. That’s why so many people “love” McCain too. It’s easy to fall into the thrall of the MSM and I suspect that’s where your Juneau sister is. We need to wake up now on Palin. It’s too late on McCain.
