In the small town of Winnemucca Nevada a man bent on performing a mass shooting at a bar was stopped by an armed CCW permit holder who happened to be in the right place at the right time. The alleged mass murderer had already killed two victims & had injured two others with gunshot wounds, but while he was reloading he was shot & killed by an armed CCW permit holder who was also at the bar.
I love happy endings.
I loathe wimpy media who say things like "alleged mass murderer". Dead men aren't put on trial. He NEVER will be convicted. Fortunately self-defense is a justified act and the man's conviction of his murderous crime WAS handed down on the spot.
"Alleged" my eye.
If only the wimpy libs could learn something from them.
This reminds me. I need to go get my CCW. I keep talking about going to get it, but I haven’t yet.
well if your in Texas be sure to apply as soon as possible. Its taking forever for the dps to get through with mine.
Probably because of all those New Orleans resettled residents backlogging the office.
I have been told that the CCW holder wasn’t even in police custody for an hour and they let him walk out with his gun.
I always feel bad for you folks that have to get permission from the state.
Thing is...A handgun is not allowed to be carried where liquor is served. I am surprised they didn’t arrest the hero for carrying where he shouldn’t. The place you would most likely need a handgun, you aren’t allowed to carry one.
on second thought, its possible Nevada allows this...I have a Florida CCW and I know they don’t allow it..but now I live in Vegas and I don’t recall seeing any no handgun signs on the casinos....better check into that.
In Georgia, the rule is if you have a CCW you cannot carry into a bar with the primary sales of food account for less than half the establishments revenue.
Obviously, you’re not asking to examine the books of each establishment you enter but a a general guideline is bars=bad, resturaunts with alcohol=OK....
However, if you do carry into a bar (and are caught) the CCW provides a limited level of protection by lowering the illegal carry charge that could be brought against you from a felony to a misdemeanor.
Better tried by 12 then carried by 6.
If you're in Texas, you won't be able to legally duplicate this act because you can't carry your weapon into a BAR! A bar derives more than 50% of its revenue from the sale of alcoholic beverages and therefore make it off limits to legal CCW (CHL) carry. A sad caveat to the laws in Texas.
Oddly enough, you CAN legally carry into most nudie bars because most don't have liquor licenses and only sell "setups", hehehehehe!
like the old saying,”conservatives are just liberals who have been mugged”.
Again, in Texas some level of protection is provided to the CHL holder by the law that requires any business which has sales more than 50% coming from the sale of alcoholic beverages. Such sign (in BIG RED letters) must be prominently posted on every entrance. At least a CHL holder doesn't have to figure it out and is not be held liable if such a sign is warranted but not posted.
They HAVE learned something from them. They have learned that an armed citizen does NOT need the government's police to protect him. THIS IS EVIL to them. They cannot tolerate the slightest lack of government dependency, so incidents like this will cause them to redouble their efforts to disarm us all.
Two things coming up that could reallly screw those of us who thing that the right to keep and bear arms is the cornerstone of all other liberty.
