ABC News' Tahman Bradley and Kate McCarthy report: Sen. Barack Obama gives Hillary Clinton the benefit of the doubt that she had no hidden meaning when she invoked the assassination of Bobby Kennedy as an explanation for remaining in the Democratic presidential race.
"I have learned that when youre campaigning for as many months as myself and Sen. Clinton have been campaigning that, you know, sometimes you get careless in terms of the statements that you make. And I think thats what happened here," Obama told the Puerto Rico radio station Isla Saturday.
"Sen. Clinton says that she did not intend any offense by it, and I would take her at her word on that."
Word of Clinton's remark made to the Argus Leader sparked a less gracious response yesterday by the Obama campaign. Spokesman Bill Burton said the remarks were "unfortunate." Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a Hillary Clinton supporter, issued a statement last night saying Clinton's words should not be interpreted for more than they were.
Obama spent his day campaigning in Puerto Rico where he held a rally at La Plaza del Quinto Centenario in advance of next Sunday's primary. Obama told the cheering crowd, "If we do well in Puerto Rico, there's no reason I won't be announcing I'm the Democratic nominee for president."
Obama also told the crowd he thought his campaign was "on the brink of winning the Democratic nomination.
Whatever Barry
Fixed it for him.
BS. She wants him dead.
Nailed it.
Both Obama and Clinton are likely to make comments which will greatly damage their campaign. Which one manages to make it to November without self-destructing is a guess.
maybe we should ask JFK Jr what he thinks of these comments....
Exactly - which is why Barry, by appearing to be magnanimous to Hillary, is inoculating himself from criticism of his own gaffes.
No worries. The press has provided training wheels for Barry, and padded guardrails for Hillary.
And it he were President for “4” years, how many mistakes would he make?
...Senator Clinton and I...
Chaossssssssssssssssssss
He’s panicked about her 30% going to McCain.
This is beautiful. The rats are trying to maintain unity, and the MSM won’t let ‘em.
And let me tell you, southern Ds are NOT going to vote for Obama, certainly none in my family. They say some pretty shocking things that I’d hit the abuse button on if there was one... they’d get banned on post one if they were Freepers.
I dont lose sleep over it because the realities are that . . . as a black man . . . Barack can get shot going to the gas station, Michelle Obama said in the interview, set to air Sunday night.

Thank you for pointing this out - you beat me to it! So many people say this “... myself and So-And-So ...” and it goes unchallenged. This is wrong for a couple of reasons. Refer to yourself last and use the objective form, not the nominative. We’re surrendering our language.
1. The Obama people think the world revolves around their great messiah, Baraq Hussein Obama.
2. The Obama people are paranoid. I like to call them the paranoid schiz-Husseiniacs.
Maybe this two year process of picking presidential candidates is not such a bad idea after all.
