My goodness, folks, this Hillary Comment business is starting to become a REAL International Burn Burner right now.

Here is my synopsis from the Japanese major (conservative) daily Sankei Shimbun, with it's rich and intriguing headine. (below) (and URL link to original Japanese language article). Japanese Middle-of-the-Road and Left-Oriented papers and outlets are also running with it as we speak.

Huckabee made a stupid joke about this topic the other week at an NRA meeting that didn’t get much play. Watch it become news if Huckabee gets the nod from McCain.

I noticed that Huckabee is not on the guest list for McCain's "barbecue". LOL. There's Romney, Crist and Jindal, but no Huckster.

She was talking about primaries and how long they used to last. ... Then she mentions that RFK was still campaigning in June when he was assassinated.

Just glanced at drudge... he's not letting it drop. There is a blurb there noting that RFK declared his candidacy on March 16, 1968.

So is this hillary’s sepuku moment?

No, that would require a sense of honor.
Actually, I heard that Hillary is already planning a new campaign strategy:

Yes. It is the very dark soul of the Democrat Party of the 21st century.

I noticed that Huckabee is not on the guest list for McCain's "barbecue".

One article last night indicated that he was invited but declined, as he and wife are celebrating their wedding anniversary this weekend.

Her goal is obvious. Destroy Obama so he loses. That way she gets another shot (or Chlesea?) in only 4 years rather than 8. IMO

Hillary has just blown her chance to be VP to President Obama, and that the last thing people would want is a Vice President sitting in office wishing bad omens for the President so she could take over.

May have been lost in translation, but that sounds like this reporter is already claiming victory for Obama in November.

Actually, things have come full circle when you think about it.

Over on D.U., they are writing rabid things about Hillary Clinton and her sociopathic, power-grabbing ways, stuff we have been saying here on FR (and before FR began) all along for about 16 YEARS!!!

Then, you see stuff about how stupid President Bush is (in our case, on issues like borders) right on FR, when it would have been unimaginable four years ago, yet he has been called a fool on D.U. for a long time now.

Politics is funny.

What puzzles me? No one on Fox News (O'Reily Hannity etc. mentioned Hillary's gaffe.

Guess you haven't been watching Foxnews these many months carrying her water. The fact that Hillary's campaign praised them for their fair coverage, says it all.

AIT what is the general consensus in Japan -- wishful thinking or she was making an historical reference that was misunderstood?

nutmeg, unfortunately people have short memories but I'm hoping this will kill any chance of relection to the Senate when she next runs.

Couldn’t happen to a better person in my estimate. I take great joy in seeing their downfall. But I know they are not down for the count, like Steve McQueen’s “Blob”, you can be sure she will be back (or him too for that matter). They need POWER that much.

Japanese bloggers today theorized as much. But they projected a Japanese politician's sense [if in that much of a bind and with a sense of cultural shame] of "sekinin wo toru" upon the Hildebeast, which (she) is culturally if not politically and psycho-sociopathologically altogether a different creature than a Japanese "seijika" entirely.

Politics is funny.

That is why being an Independent is so much fun. We get to throw mud at all of them.

And, as a bonus, being an Independent gripes the heck out of Rush.

LOL.

It was ENTIRELY all about drawing corrolaries between Bobby's assassination and not with how long the Democrat primary seasons have become (spin, spin, spin).

Whether it was Freudian and slipped out betraying the heart's true intents, or a cleverly crafted, controlled intimidation emitted like a threatening fart, will be a matter for the historians to debate. But her message, I think--I think the world thinks--is clear even if somewhat veiled and opaque for effect, steeped in masterful subtlety .
