WHY HILL WON'T DROP OUT: BOBBY KENNEDY WAS ASSASSINATED IN JUNE

Hillary Clinton is still in the presidential race, she said today, because "historically, it makes no sense" to quit, and added that, "Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June," making an odd comparison between the dead candidate and Barack Obama.
"People have been trying to push me out since Iowa," she said to the Argus Leader's editorial board.

Thanks for letting us know it takes 30 minutes of listening to that sickening video to get to the quote.
Let’s hope someone puts it on Youtube.

Wow!
I think she just hosed her presidential aspirations now and in the future. Check that, this is from Hillary Clinton. I gotta hold for the coming spin.

I listened to the entire clip and it wasn’t on there. However, it is being reported all over the place, so I guess it happened.
It is beyond bizarre. I just can’t think what to make of it. Unbelievable.

I bet they are. I hate to see the primary end. Clinton-Obama has been more entertaining than Dean-Kerry-Edawrds in 04.

Threadline makes it sound that way, but I think we're overreacting. Her point is that Kennedy was a contender late in the nominating process, so it is not a given that she must drop out. I hate to be a Hillary defender, but I have to agree. It's pretty clear from listening to the interview that she is NOT in any way suggesting that she is staying in the race in case Obama gets assassinated.
She is giving several historical examples to show the folly of people clamoring for a quick end to the nomination contest.
She (unwisely, no doubt) uses Kennedy's death as a well-remembered time marker to make the case that nomination contests have in many cases gone on well into June.
In print it looks bad ... and it may hurt her big time. But her interviewers did not do a double take at all. It was pretty clear what she was trying to say.

Have you gotten “the call” from her yet? ;-)

What an interesting thing to say. Her context is not improper, but it sure is tasteless. It's something that people with decorum don't say. It's something that people with values try not to think about.
The worst part about it is that it is like a call to arms for any nutjob who idolizes her and hates Obama that much. She may as well have winked after saying it while saying "wink wink".
My nightmare scenario is McCain picks her to be VP in order to pull in all her voters. "It's a new Republican party." i just threw up a little.
To: Free ThinkerNY
Strictly speaking, it makes sense for her to stay in the race because there’s no ironclad guarantee BHO will. If he’s out for any reason (at this rate, he’s going to gaffe his way out of it) she’s right there to pick things up.
That was, of course, the worst possible way for her to express that reasoning. So bad that at best it shows gross incompetence, and at worst all the malice we’re reading into it.
Popcorn, anyone?

You got a point.
My first thought was that she let accidentally slip what she and Bill were wishing or planning. Is that why she cannot stop laughing? BTW, Chelsea for President has already been mentioned.
