I'm not so smart. My opinion is nothing more than a distillation of market and political observations that is there for everyone to see. Too many in both arenas have publicly wished for our country to be weakened in these same arenas. It is obvious who will be enriched.

You can go down the list of what we've been faced with in the last generation or so. Our elected leaders nearly always end up making the worst choice for our economical and physical security. That is not accidental or incompetence. This seems like a 50 year plan to me.

I agree. The only thing I would quibble about is the fifty year comment. I think it’s more like twenty-five.

In 1992 the U.S. went on a free trade frenzy, that seems poised to gain us a confrontation with China in about five to ten years.

You still put it very clearly and succinctly. It takes a little focus to cut through the distractions and lay out a bottom line assessment like that. As you say the things that are happening aren’t due to incompetence or accident. By that same token there is a lot of intentional smoke screen being thrown up too that keeps many from cutting through to the truth like you have. A short sharp statement like yours is helpful IMO.
