US actor George Takei is to wed his long-term partner after California lifted its ban on same-sex marriage.
Takei, 71, best known for playing Mr Sulu in Star Trek, said he and Brad Altman were going through the "delicious dilemma" of where to marry.
The actor and 54-year-old Mr Altman have been together for 21 years.
"We can have the dignity, as well as all the responsibilities, of marriage. We embrace it all heartily," Takei wrote on his website.

The Rock was decent in Ice Station Zebra. I’m having a hard time thinking of another Rock Hudson movie I find watchable.
New meaning for “The Naked Time”.
I think Liberace was an ‘open secret’. No one cared because he was excellent at what he did. He didn’t speak to the press about his orientation...he didn’t need to. Women thought he was cute, men respected his talent, even if they saw something ‘odd’ about him. He didn’t flaunt his gayness as in shoving it in your face to get you to agree with him or accept him.
Find some of his old shows and watch the guy play. He was one of the best on the planet, bar none.
As for Peter Lorre...heck, I didn’t know!
What the heck was that episode about anyway?
Wikipedia states that Peter Lorre (born Lazlo Lowenstein) was married 3 times and had a daughter. I never heard anything about his being gay.

I believe they used Transporter Special Protocol H to cure it.
The episode where a virus makes people go crazy.
I forget the exact name. The remade it in the next generation episode and link it to the original 66 episode.
I forget how they purge the virus. Been so long since I have seen that one.
Tekei was also in a fascinating Twilight Zone episode where he played a grounds keeper possessed by a WWII samurai sword. It was considered controversial.
Fascinating episode though.

“These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise... It’s five year mission... to seek out new worlds and new civilizations... to boldly go where no man has gone before... Oh, except for Mr. Sulu, he’d be happy just to get off on Uranus.”
This is why one of the star trek movies WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY to point out the Sulu character was a father and had a family.
they had to protect the monetary future of the franchise.
Maybe California can resolve its budget woes by taxing the revenues from FAAAABULOUS gay weddings!
AUUUGHGH!! My mind’s eyes!!!! Oh, Lord, I’m gonna have manly giggles for the next 30 minutes...
Colonel, USAFR
Disgusting.....
Mr. Sulu, a pillow biter... Whodda thunk it??
Infectious agent invades Enterprise and causes the crew to act drunk. Sulu sashays, Spock cries, Riley locks himself in engineering, extolling the virtues of the Irish while serenading the crew and turning the engines off, as the ship spirals down in a decaying orbit. How do they get out of this one? It’s a cliffhanger.
Great photo. Love the street signs at the gay parade.
“One Way”
“Do Not Enter”
You’d think they’d get the hint?!
I thought that Dax was a man in a previous form?
