Obama Draws Record Crowd in Oregon

An estimated 75,000 gathered on the banks of the Willamette River in Portland on Sunday to see Barack Obama. “Wow! Wow! Wow!” were his first words, as he surveyed the multitude, which included people in kayaks and small pleasure craft on the river.
Two pictures were included to show Obama in a sea of people:

Looks like I may have posted a Portland Jazz Festival pix instead of the Portland Blues Festival pix. Here is the Blues Festival sampling: 2007
View of the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival site as seen from the south end, at the Miller Stage. The Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival is the largest blues fest west of the Mississippi, featuring more than 125 stellar artist performances on four stages.
2006
Boaters gather on the Willamette River as blues fans pack Portland’s Tom McCall Waterfront Park for the 2006 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival.
2005
View of the Credit Union Stage from the Miller Stage on the southern edge of the festival site. In the distance lies the Hawthorne Bridge, and beyond that, the A&E Front Porch Stage.
2004
View of Miller Blues Stage (far left) looking past the Hawthorne Bridge. Boaters stake out prime anchorage spots a week before the festival's opening night.
2003
Chicago pianist Pinetop Perkins, a veteran of Muddy Waters´ band of the 1970s, celebrates his 90th birthday at the Waterfront Blues Festival. Perkins, backed by Portland´s Paul deLay Band, is joined on the Miller Stage by saxophonist Kaz Kazanoff of the Texas Horns, and Australian guitarist Fiona Boyes, winner of the 2003 International Blues Competition in Memphis.
So the bottom line is the Blues Festival does pretty well pack the park, draws tens of thousands, and does so OVER FOUR DAYS. http://www.waterfrontbluesfest.com/index.html Did Obama really double or triple a four day draw which packed the park in just one afternoon? Inquiring minds...

Digging deeper, the Blues Festival (’largest West of the Mississippi’) runs 4 days this year with >100 performances on four stages and is expected to draw 120,000+

http://www.waterfrontbluesfest.com/history/fastfacts.html

Starting from 3PM Thursday July 3rd and ending at 1AM July 7th.

And Obama pulled more than half that total attendance in just a few hours! Yah, those estimates might be a teensy bit on the high side... ;)

Liberals share one trait if nothing else and that is the ease at which they are manipulated. Many believe they are doing the right things. That’s what makes them so dangerous. They fight so hard for their ideals but are lied to in such a way that the power hungry like Obama and Hillary further their goals through the ideals of their supporters.

Here is the Google maps view of the park. It appears to be somewhat larger than a football field.
You know, that's a darn good observation. That park sure looks a lot smaller when viewed overhead (than in the cropped AP photos ;) Somehow I suspect any subsequent downward revisions of crowd size will not make the front pages...

That’s what they are designed to do: convince the viewer that momentum and numbers make his election inevitable.

Make no mistake: this is specifically to demoralize Hillary supporters for Tuesdays OR & KY primaries.

Obama pulled the Edwards card out to blunt Hillary’s landslide victory in WV. Now he (with the full support of MSM stooges) are pulling out all stops to put her out of the race. They will only show here talking to smallish, bedraggled (unsophisticated) supporters, and contrast that with ‘multitudes’ fawning over Obama. Hence the pictures that precipitated this thread.

The left hand photo seems to have cloning patterns in it. Is there a way to check?

Absolutely.

Brilliant observations that make me grateful for online forums like Free Republic.

Confined to the dinosaur medium of CNN or Time Magazine, the b@stards might actually get away with this shaping strategy.

But they won't.

We can expose their slanted propaganda on the internet and talk radio!!!

Have good people like Rush Limbaugh and Michelle Malkin gotten wind of this yet?

Much like vampires hate Holy water and sunlight.

Let's expose the MSM to more of what they hate!!!

The TRUTH!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, you are right.

He won't be getting so much as a peso from me.

But I will vote for him just so I can neutralize a vote for Obama.

Sheesh, our beloved Republic is in for a bumpy ride.

I wouldn’t know a cloning pattern if I saw one, but I’d be willing to bet someone else around might. Maybe even a Hillary supporter who is peeking in on this site... if they are, hey, we’re here to help! ;)

Seriously, if AP or Reuters were foolish enough to try that to boost the crowd numbers, it could backfire badly.

Here are a couple of places to start for cloning pattern detection:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=detecting+photoshop+cloning+patterns+

http://www.bountyfishing.com/blog/2007/06/19/photoshop-and-fishing-dont-go-hand-in-hand/

(Fish stories seem to go hand in hand with politics ;)

http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/08/14/business/photoshop.php

Anyone else know of any quick and dirty cloning detection routines? These pix are gonna have their maximum impact over the next day, so brew a pot of coffee and have at it!

“”” Oy Vey ........!!
He won’t be president IMO. Hopefully it’s because he loses the election. “””

How strange this election has become. Less than a year ago, who would have thought McCain would be the GOP candidate. Or would I have ever thought I'd be fearful of a little known character, whose name most had trouble saying or spelling. An unknown, whose wife seems to despise the country who has given her so much. An unknown who attends a church lead by a racist, anti-American hater, whose hero is none other than Farrakan.

My, my, my, what a difference several months makes. Hillary looks good in comparison to this socialist American hating character who doesn't even know how many states the USA has, but rather gets the USA mixed up with the number of muslim states (57) in a muslim organization - not once, but twice.

I hope you're right about Obama loosing to McCain or even Hillary.

How in the heck can American's be so dumb as to fall all over themselves, to support a guy who doesn't even seem to like or be proud of the country we all love so much? He appears to have more in common with the likes of Iran's and Syria's leaders. As is typical the majority of the stinking media is pushing this guy for all they are worth, and I don't think we are being overly sensitive! It gets so old to watch the constant manipulation and propaganda of the loony media.

As I'm typing this post, the radio news (Fox news), is talking up the *Huge* crowds at Obama’s rally today. Fox news announcer just said - you're listening to Fox News, fair and balanced. I don't think so after hearing their praise for Obama’s crowd today. Obama just said on the news, the size of the crowd was UNBELIEVABLE. Well, I've got news for Obama - the BS coming from the media is more unbelievable than the size of your crowds. May God have mercy on our land~~!!!!

Okay.

I just fired off emails to Mr. Limbaugh and Ms. Malkin.

Hopefully they will mention this intentional deceit coming from the media.

Any other ideas on how to get the word out?

I’d settle for a good hi-res version of the large crowd shot in the original post. I swear some of the people in the middle distance look smaller than the people in the far distance, which isn’t optically possible. Unless they’re all children in the middle of the crowd. Which I doubt.

Or maybe the image has been stepped on too much and everything’s pixelated all to hell.
