could be, that would be the airway protection problem
People who are not able to swallow or are in danger of aspirating can also be intubated to prevent aspiration and further problems.
If he is indeed intubated, and I am only guessing from the picture upthread, it is not good no matter what the underlying reason.

Ted has a lot of power. So does it evaporate if he is totally incapacitated (My guess that will be his condition if he even survives) or will it be bestowed on another kennedy. I can’t see Joe have that much power.
But I can see Caroline Kennedy campaigning as the substitute for Ted.

FNC keeps using past tense on him! 'Was, Did, Saw,' He must be incapacitated. Either that or they're just using this as an opportunity to use some of their warehoused eulogy talking points.

Ping - this one looks like it will stay up. Sorry we had to yank your post.

I understand your sentiment.
When things like this happen to people like Sen. Kennedy, I try to remember that Christ died for all humanity and I hope that the person came to salvation in Christ before he either died or became mentally incapacitated as a result of his illness- in either case, it would be too late to make the decision to trust Christ for forgiveness of sin and for salvation. God said it is not His will that any die in their sins and spend eternity apart from Him.
None of us are guaranteed the next five minutes of life. - including those who have been blessed with great wealth, and fame, and power. All of our lives are in God's hands- and it is a horrifying thing to spend your entire life at enmity with God, die, and have to face Him having spent your life rejecting Him and being at war with Him.
I hope Sen. Kennedy will be okay if only for the purpose of having more time to come to God.

...helps people with "
intellectual disabilities"
HUH? Is that like helping people understand that liberalism is good? Or are they trying in their own pc way to name retardation or learning disabilites?

Abba !
Father !
King of the universe,
I pray send your Ru'ach HaKodesh
to breath on the soul of Edward Moore Kennedy
in his hour of need.
Breathe on him and draw him nearer to you.
I pray that if it be your will have him come to know your Son
I ask that peace and comfort be given
to his family and friends
I ask these things in the
Holy Name of Your Son
The Word of Elohim:

We are thinking the same. I cannot forget the hard work he has put in to support abortion and homosexuality. Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those that call evil good and good evil. I hope Mr. Kennedy can find it within him to have a sincere repentance, but after so long he more than likely thinks he hasn’t done anything wrong. The people of Mass. made sure of that! God have mercy on him!

BOSTON (WBZ) ― U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy was airlifted to a Boston hospital Saturday morning after suffering stroke-like symptoms at the Kennedy compound in Hyannisport. He was first rushed to Cape Cod Hospital, and after being in the emergency room for two hours he was transported to Barnstable Airport and was then flown to Massachusetts General Hospital. The 76-year-old senator's condition was unknown Saturday. The emergency call first came in at 8:19 a.m. at the Kennedy compound at 50 Marchant Ave. Last October, Kennedy under went surgery at Mass. General after a partially blocked artery was found in his neck. The blockage was in his left carotid artery, which supplies blood to the brain and face. The surgery was successful and Kennedy returned to work later that month. Kennedy has been bothered by an aching back since a 1964 plane crash, which killed a pilot and one of Kennedy's aides. Democratic Senator, Birch Bayh, from Indiana, who was traveling with Kennedy, pulled him from the wreckage. However, Kennedy suffered a back injury, punctured lung, broken ribs and internal bleeding. Because of persistent pain, the senator often leans on a wall or sits on a stool when he otherwise would be expected to stand for an extended period.

Will this pull in more sympathy for Obama?Maybe temporarily, but McCain has "worked" with Kennedy for decades whereas Obama is a mere child. McCain can turn any mindless "sympathy vote" his own way if he has a brain and can figure out how to do it without peeing off any more Republicans.
