I won’t be able to stomach our next President, but at least I’ll be able to say I didn’t vote for him.

Id be glad to debate Obama or Hillary on whether the surge is working and whether we are winning right now. Its long, hard, tough and was mishandled for four years and I fought against that failed strategy, but in 2013 we will have won.

How very powerful this is.
Winning matters. Always. There is nothing so useless in the overall scheme of things as the ideas and policies of losers.
Just thought I’d repeat that, since Iraq is the subject of the thread, and the Middle East’s oil supply is the number one issue associated with US prominence for the first half of this century.
I take it Fred Thompson is not considered a conservative by you.
His attempts to turn conservatives to the dark side don't count. McCain's work on CFR with Fred Thompson was like taking a boy scout to a strip club.
Hius cap is lower than Obama, but higher than Liebermans and many of the Senate Democrats. His plan is more similar to Obama's than what is being proposed by most in government on the left.
"DON'T BLAME ME. I DIDN'T VOTE FOR EITHER OF THOSE TWO KNUCKLEHEADS"
New tagline..thanks!
Good editing job.. YW! ;-)
Now there's a plus. /sarcasm
Every president on both sides for as far back as I can remeber has made the gesture of mixing the cabinet, if only with a token post for a member of the opposite party. I dont see where McCains statement here is any big deal or even any surprise. But too many people are so full of anger they see red at every statement.
Read my home page. I dont like McCain all that much, but he is miles better than the alternatives. JUDGES JUDGES JUDGES. This will shape the court system for the next 25 years. Dont throw that away. That cant be recovered after a one term democrat president.
With losses in recent elections in strongly Conservative areas, and your running as a liberal/maverick...how do you plan to bring in the Conservatives that are required to WIN in November? Will you adhere to Conservative principles.
Hasn’t anyone told you? McCain and Fred Thompson are close friends. They worked closely in the Senate throughout Fred’s entire tenure.
Obama wants Kyoto II. McCain doesn’t.
“I wont be able to stomach our next President, but at least Ill be able to say I didnt vote for him.”
Post of the day, Notary, post of the day. Screw John McCain; he is insane AND in love with himself. Too many Pollyannas here want to ignore his past behavior, and count on what he SAYS between now and November. No sir, not me. I’ll be damned if I’ll vote for a candidate that was selected by liberal RATS as our nominee.
I disagree. Juan IS listening to his rat party liberal base.
There is no law or etiquette that demands the angry little liberal has to be nominated, even if even he wins 100% of the of the primary contests.
We are a long way from September. The rumblings are everywhere. Third party nominees, threats of revolts by elected delegates, fund raising gone dry.
McCain should be thrown under the bus and a conservative Republican nominated.
When I hear MCCain/Republican nominee the phrase “someone got shafted” comes to mind....I will vote for him b/c of necessity and NOT choice...not only will I hold my nose as I do,,,I will probably throw up right afterwards....
COME ON FREEPERS.... I still say Free Republic could be the next TRUE political party...with all of the combined brains/experience represented on here...any takers???
Uh, don't care.
That's just incorrect. McCain said this week he supports a Kyoto successor. But since this topic is partly upon respect for marriage and human dignity, lets talk about how McCain showed respect for either when he dumped his first wife for another woman after she became a cripple.
McCain said it takes 10-15 years to get a nuclear plant going. One assumes that means actually *working,* meaning producing power, and not still under construction. If he can beat Congress about the head and shoulders enough, perhaps it might indeed be possible to get new nuke plants *under construction* in just four years. After all, under construction doesn’t have to mean much — clearing the ground probably qualifies. Under construction is a far cry from having the plant be in working order. I don’t think McCain’s necessarily smokin’ anything (at least on this subject).
