Ron Paul Hopes to Crash McCain's Party

Sen. John McCain, taking a victory lap as the presumptive Republican nominee, happily poked fun at his only remaining opponent.

Asked during an appearance on "The Daily Show" last week which of the two Democratic nominees he preferred to run against in the general election, McCain quipped, "Ron Paul."

But Paul might get the last laugh during McCain's coronation at the party's convention in early September.

McCain's nomination may be certain, but he finds himself pressured by different wings of the conservative movement -- from the libertarians and the anti-war activists, to social conservatives and evangelical voters.

But I’m also aware that John McCain supports private property rights, and wants the government to not work by fiat but with free enterprise in a way that benefits the economy AND holds true to the concept of private property.

We have Hillary and Obama on the other hand, promising to take some things from you for the Greater Good. Deciding that you should not have the right to property, or even to income above a certain point (see windfall taxes).

If you really are concerned about the fascism of regulations, then you should support and vote for the candidate who wants a smaller government.

I’ve been waffling on this, but I just can’t vote for McKook. I’m sorry, he’s more despicable than Obama or Hillary, because hes a traitor within our midst. If I’m gonna be killed on the battlefield, I’d like to be killed by the enemy, not by a traitor from within.

Let’s just accept the defeat we earned by letting greedy rodent Newt G., Lindsay G., the Bush family and others wear the conservative badge when they really aren’t conservatives. Our fault. Let’s man up and dig in for 40 more years of struggle.

What better way to bring the truth of those Rights to a society than to work with them, side by side, to help them move their society towards recognition of those Rights. Show them the results of the fruits of their labors, the fruits of my labors, and how those societies consider each person.

Yeah, we should have "worked together" with the British instead of taking up arms. The Chinese government is composed of a bunch of thuggish dictators. The only way to deal with people like that is by force, and from what I've observed, the Chinese as a society don't have the balls to do the right thing.

By no means is China as close to those ideals as the US; far from it! But they are infinitely better and more open - politically, socially, and economically - than they were 15 years ago.

You don’t like that John McCain took a principled stand (something you rail against with respect to dimocRATS?) and then have the nerve to call someone else a liberal? I can only guess from your comments that you’re okay with Congress doing “business as usual” with no one standing up for their principles and voting against a bill they don’t believe is right for America. Based on that line of logic, you want liberal approaches to prevail in Congress.

My vote will not matter in the Presidential election because I live in Wasington, but my support will matter. I speak out against Hillary and Obama (mainly Obama), but I will not support McCain because I can’t trust him to stand up for my rights. McCain is for sale to the highest bidder and he doesn’t want conservative support. Why should I jeopardize my credibility by supporting him?

Like I said, the man who is heading the McCain campaign for Whatcom County told me that he was thinking of quitting.

I thought you were one of McCain’s biggest supporters here. Don’t tell me you have going over to the bitcon side. Well I'm one of Hillary's and Obama's biggest detractors, which means I will vote for McCain. But he's not my favorite politician by a long shot. At some point I'd like to feel like I'm voting for someone instead of the 'lesser of two evils'. That's not going to be this election cycle, obviously.

In two generations, the China you see will be vastly different than the China of today, a lot closer to Japan and Taiwan than the old China of Mao.

No. I don't support decalring war on freaking China. I would love to see an uprising internally and for the Chinese leadership to be beheaded in the middle of Tiennamen Square, but unfortunately as I mentioned above, the Chinese people are basically pu$$ies, so I don't expect to see this any time soon.

We’re supposed to be outraged - OUTRAGED! - that a mythical, never-ever-existed 100% pure “Conservative ideal” never rose up, and that the GOP doesn’t pay 100% strict adherence to this demand. And instead we have this socialist-in-Democrat clothing called McCain running for OUR party.
