Prayer Request

Jim Robinson is having surgery tomorrow, May 15th

Jim Update:

It has been a frustrating day, I finally have a update for everyone.

I called Jim at the hospital. The nurse was in his room and gave him the phone. Sheila took his cell phone to him so I will be able to contact him easier. Also they took his laptop.

Due to major pain killers, he was able to sleep in the bed last night and was in bed when I called.

He sounded better than he has for the past few months.
He will be there for at least one more night; maybe more depending on decisions being made tonight.

They may remove Jim's left leg at the knee tomorrow. The docs have told him that the poison in that leg is going to continue causing problems.

Jim is really reluctant to let them remove the leg but I told him that if it will relieve the pain and stop all the damage it is doing to his internal organs, he should let them take it. Jim cannot use his legs now. He only has limited use of his right leg and no muscle remains in his left leg. The muscular dystrophy has done a number on his muscles while he has been ill.

I hope this makes sense.

When I hear what the decision is, I will let you know. In the meantime, Jim needs our prayers tonight and tomorrow.

I just talked to Chris and he said that Notpoliticallycorewrecked is visiting with Jim at this time.

He also said that the Doctors have decided that tomorrow Jim has to make the decision about his leg

The Doctors believe, as you stated, that it has to be removed to keep the infection from spreading.

So I imagine that is the decision he will make.

Don't worry about him getting online, he has an “air” card so he can get online anywhere.

He misses being able to read and post here tremendously naturally. This is his baby.

Good news that the swelling has gone down dramatically in his left leg and that for the first time in months he is not in pain 24 hrs a day and was able to sleep more than usual.

Chris had no idea how long he would be hospitalized, but I would imagine it will be several more days, especially if the operation on his leg is done soon.

Good advice you gave Jim, Amy.

Yes, Mama Bear don't hesitate to visit, it will be highly appreciated and encouraging to see such good friends as you and that jk I'm sure

Jim is blessed indeed to have family that are watching over him closely and taking care of his needs, getting him to the hospital and other numerous tasks

And the legion here that are pulling for him.

Today's short update:

I just talked to Jim; the surgery will be performed tomorrow. He doesn't know what time yet. He said he is feeling pretty good. Also, he slept off and on last night. May have been due to the stress.

I am going to try to see him this afternoon. He has some tests scheduled but he doesn't think they will take very long.

He is not allowed to have his laptop in the patient area so he cannot get online until he can get down to the lobby.

His words ..... "Please tell everyone how much I appreciate their thoughts and prayers. Oh Yeah ..... tell them I'll be back online as soon as I'm able.

Anyway, thank you for your prayers.

How true. As for level of impact on the conservative movement, I rank Jim with Rush: Rush provided the anchor for us and let us know not only that we are NOT in the minority, but that we are and were never alone.

Jim has provided us the place to 'meet'.

Both are equally important.

Lord, I pray in one accord with every other prayer prayed in the Name of Jesus because of faith in Him on behalf of Jim and his family.

Lord God, there is one God, one King of Kings, one Lamb of God and that was, is and always will be You. You are Supreme above all things and work out all things for the good of those whose serve You in light of eternity. This is Your promise. Since You are Truth, You cannot lie. Therefore this morning we place our absolute trust in You, that indeed You will work out this thing for Your glory.

Lord God, among other things Your glory is the outshining of all that You are in a way others can see. You are the God of love. Out of that love, Your entire goal is to restore all who will come back to You for eternity. You use ALL things for this purpose. Where the enemy comes to seek to kill, steal and destroy, You come to bring life abundant. The life You bring does not terminate with our physical deaths, but continues on in heaven for all eternity. You, Lord God are AWESOME God because YOU use all tactics of the enemy in order to accomplish Your purposes. When the enemy sought to crucify Jesus, You used it to redeem humanity from eternal separation from You!!

Use today for Your purposes. We ask You to be with Jim and his family in a special, powerful way that can only be from You. We ask for Your peace to be so prevalent that it does not make sense to anyone around this family. We ask this peace to shine through the Robinson family during these difficult circumstances which can only be explained by the existence of YOU. Lord God, we ask for Your power to manifest in the surgery and how it progresses in every step. Let it manifest in a way which gives no other explanation other than the existence of You, our God. Use this surgery and healing time and the way You cause it to go to reveal the reality of who You are at every step along the way.

Let Your Presence accompany this family mightily. Lord God, even as I begin to pray for angels to accompany them, You give me a picture in my mind’s eye of a group of warrior angels surrounding Jim even now, accompanying him wherever he goes. Thank you for Your protection and favor on Jim and his family.

Your comfort, Your peace, Your way - even Your inexplicable joy in all circumstances - be with this family and Your mighty hand upon the surgeons and all who are assigned to his care. This we ask for and in this we believe. You will do the work perfectly and beyond any and all expectations because You alone are indeed GOD. In Jesus’ mighty and precious name, Amen.

(BTW, sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is WORSHIP because our worship causes Him to draw even closer - its what He promises. Therefore His Presence complete with all His attributes increases as well. When we worship - just adoring Him for who He is instead of asking for anything, He comes mightily and releases power His Way, which is all good in light of eternity because He cannot operate in a way contrary to who He is or what He has promised in His Word, the Bible. Worship can be in song, in adoration without words, in words declaring His attributes and how wonderful He is, in attitude in our actions and how we treat others. The past few days I have been spending time in “worship” on behalf of the Robinson family. This might be a way some of you also are called to be in God’s presence on behalf of the Robinson family during this difficult time as well. Just an idea.....

I let Jim know that he has all FReepers praying hard for him. I also let him know that I had been called to another website and found a Jim Robinson thread where many Former FReepers are in prayer for Jim’s recovery. That made him feel very good.
