what kind of messed up “religion/culture” forbids the touching of dogs? you have to teach children to hate dogs unless they’ve been bitten.. it’s natural for children to love animals.. and its a natural reaction to want to pet animals.. they are truly screwed up.The same that forbids eating pigs. Way back in the day pigs and dogs were pretty big disease vectors. The problem with modern Islam is that it *refuses to adapt* to new realities in the world. The Koran was a great problem solving document in 700ad. Now not so much. I don't see christian men adhering to Leviticus, stoning people and building funky temples these days. Fundamentalist Islamists might learn a thing or two from their example.
Muslims CAN’T advance beyond their 700ad doctrine. It is apostasy to study anything not included in the Koran, because it self-defines as a “complete and perfect work”.
Islam made some early advances in algebra and astronomy, but only because these studies helped with their worship - timekeeping and pointing their asses in the right direction when they pray.
The only scientific advances they made after that were due to the dhimmis that they allowed to live once they pillaged a country.
Reformation or rennaisance is impossible, because anyone that “tacks a proclamation on the mosque door” would be beheaded.
That is the least of my problems with Islam. I have no problem with observant Jews who follow strict dietary laws, but then they don't try to force their culture on others.
