She once described herself as "the most famous person you know very little about." But as she careens across the country in a desperate attempt to rescue her campaign, America is coming to know Hillary Clinton all too well.
The tenacity that even critics praised suddenly looks tawdry. The persistence against impossible odds appears anything but noble. Long after the party is over, Clinton's refusal to go home is taking on the trappings of a sad spectacle.
Her inability to accept defeat is not, it seems clear, about public service or even politics. It is merely personal.
With Barack Obama on a glide path to the Democratic nomination - he has insurmountable leads in delegates and popular votes - Clinton's cringe-inducing performance is doing what her harshest critics never could. It has ripped away any pretense that she actually stands for something.
The conventional portrait of her as an unflinching, devoted partisan has been proven wrong. Partisanship, it turns out, was just another fig leaf hiding a singular allegiance.
Politics has been a male narcissists' playpen, but Hillary is showing she doesn't take a backseat to any of the boys, including her hubby. Consider a few of her recent zig-zags in an incoherent bid to outflank Obama.
A year ago, she affected a bad Southern drawl as she quoted a black hymn in an Alabama church. Now she emphasizes her blue-collar roots as she summons cameras to record her downing a shot with factory workers in Pennsylvania.
In the blink of a campaign eye, she went from Rosa Parks to Rosie the Riveter. Did she care if we noticed, or did she assume we wouldn't?
She once likened the House of Representatives to a "plantation" in front of black audience, but now touts her base of white support...

You must be either too young, or haven’t studied WWII history. Rosie the Riveter was regarded as a heroine because she entered the work force to build airplanes, and whatever was needed to help our boys fight. We won, BTW, in case you need to be reminded. Rosa Parks proved a point and got a free ride which has not ever stopped, and probably never will.
I have been to Russia 7 times and can assure you that the Russians do NOT yearn for anything of the sort. You can;t believe what you read in the lying mass media!
At least I knew where Hillary stood...
Someone needs to wake up and get a huge dose of reality here....
...you trying to out-rush limbaugh...?
“Well frankly, if we have to have a Democrat president, Id prefer Hillary to Obama. Obama is either a true post modern socialist or an empty suit who being handled by far left advisors.”
I disagree. Respectfully of course. Clinton will sell everything we have to the highest bidder like her husband, she is even more to the left then Obama and she is nothing more then a common thief with a big rolodex.
An empty suit will just pull a Jimmah Cahter. A criminal will steal the silverware, and leave a trail of slime behind her.
I'm sorry, but Hillary working her heart out would be like a snake running it's legs off.
Let's clarify something here, I don't support Hillary. I'm a full blooded Conservative who believes in Capitalism, but for Conservatives to be throwing a party because Hillary is allegedly out of the race is a bit premature.
We have someone far worse to take on and that is the Manchurian Candidate, Barack Hussein Obama.
Laugh if you must for this is NO laughing matter because this man is one dangerous candidate. Moreover, since the Democrat Party has endorsed Obama, all bets are off and the War begins.
The writer is saying that CHAMELEON Hillary CHANGES for every audience! She WAS the SAVIOR of the Blacks...hence, Rosa, then she was a WHISKEY SWIGGING WORKING GAL ...hence, Rosie. Geesh....
She’ll have to make herself happy by rolling in the piles of money with her partner.
'twould be a beautiful sight.
No one is farther left than Obama’s handlers, no one. Besides, Hillary is ticked at the far left for abandoning her for Obama. The reason that the left is pushing Obama is because they are afraid of the Clinton triangulation and they know the Obama has no such plans, it’s post modernist socialism all the way for Obama. He’s never strayed.
Well, then the author doesn’t sound all that famiiar with the rationing that was in effect during WWII. Not a lotta whiskey for good ole Rosie, whose reputation needn’t be sullied as a whiskey guzzler for rhetorical effect. I see absolutely no reason to put Ole Rosie down. None. Not even to smack down the Arkansas Grifter.
Do we really BELIEVE Hillary will be on her way out??
NO WAY.
The Clinton’s are here to STAY.
