Sen. John McCain really does want to tempt the Republican base. ...
We've gotten our hands on an advanced transcript of this weekend's "The Chris Matthews Show" on NBC and the British Broadcasting Corporation's Katty Kay offered this nugget during the show's "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" segment:
"John McCain is going to be doing more of these themed tours of America, and one of them is going to be on energy and global climate change. It could get him into trouble with Republicans, of course, and with the base, who don't think there is much climate change going on, but it is something that he's very passionate about and he's going to be talking about it."

I finally figured it out. McCain is bucking for the VP slot on Obamas ticket! I don't think Obama's the one he's rooting for...

From what I have heard in the last couple of days, looks like I will end up voting for Bob Barr

Damn! Just when I think I can hold my nose long enough to vote for this guy he has to prove me wrong. Maybe who he picks as a running mate will convince me once and for all.

I want to like him but I just can't. It is like he is intentionally trying to p*ss off as many regular GOP voters as he can. I'm not sending a dime to the national organization.
I will only contribute directly to individual Republican house and senate candidates. If we can get the down-ballot races going our way I don't care what happens with McCain. He's a maverick so he can do it on his own.
Or, perhaps with little gems like this he will find some libtard to take my place. Someone may want to point out to him that the Democrat nominee will have a lock on that constituency.

"What the hells wrong with this guy?"
He can't get over that he lost to GW & has taken every opportunity to stick it to the conservatives.
He takes great pleasure in being the media's Maverick sweetheart .
The only thing he forgets is that the media will do to him what he is doing to us. They will side with the real RAT - not the 'wanna be' one.
We are all he's got left - but it hasn't dawned on him yet.

Re: your Photo.
Look at the vacant zombie-like look in his eyes! The real man is gone and his body has been taken over by an alien life form (also called a Democrat).

I would vote for Ron Paul before I would vote for McCain. As it is, my presidential choice will be left blank or written in.

I feel no obligation to vote for Juan. It is foolish to whore yourself and vote for a person you do not agree with.
I have washed my hands of him. I have no expectations for him.
This time, unlike with Bush, I know where he stands, and I do not like it.

They will side with the real RAT - not the 'wanna be' one. Yep. Why have near beer when there's the real deal on tap? Something you think he would have learned during his marketing days with Cindy's Budweiser distributorship.

Great thought. To lose one’s bearings refers to compass bearings as in to lose one’s direction.
However, to lose one’s bearings as in “Ball bearings,” is to lose all functionality, as in a machine.
Thank you! for that humor-—it has made my afternoon.

re: I will only contribute directly to individual Republican house and senate candidates.)))
Actually, I'm hoping for some activist movement here on Fr accumulating a list of conservative House members from all over the country for us to send the donations to that we would have otherwise sent the GOP and the presidential "pick"--
JIM'S LIST (like Emily's list)
Whaddya think? Maybe it could include the half-dozen decent GOP Senators we have like McConnel, etc.
FIRST ON THE LIST, suggests Mamzelle--the guy who's going after Tom Delay's old seat in Texas...
www.olsonforcongress.com
There needs to be a positive way for us conservatives to channel our energies. Selecting out a few candidates for FR support might be good for morale...

As a 38+ year conservative Republican, I think I’m gonna throw up and then start screaming. I think I’ll call the RNC in DC just to vent.
To: Oldpuppymax
Man, did you hit pay dirt with that statement. God, help us all for we’re living in the Twilight Zone and the toilet bowl is swirling vigorously.

He seems to have lost his bearings.
Ah, you're in the Obama camp! :)
Obama camp? Watch for yourself on this ABC video from just a few weeks ago.
This is the best the GOP has to offer?
The video at the link below shows McCain as a tottering old guy who stammers and makes significant misstatements even in this short speech.
In politics, one misstatement or misstep can ruin a career. A Lazio encroachment. A Deaniac scream. An Allen macaca moment.
McCain made 2 slip-ups in this single video. He stumbles on the word
dispirited and then replaces it with
spirited. Then, he stumbles by calling himself a
conservative liberal Republican and replaces it with
conservative Republican.
Then, McCain ended this short speech by vowing to continue to infringe on and quell First Amendment rights, when he says that
527's should be outlawed.
This is who the GOP is sending to challenge Obama??????
McCain a 'Proud Liberal'? (Video)
Watch this
Must See video and then visualize this guy going up against Obama in a series of debates.

Thanks a bunch, mister. I just had a nightmare flash of a ballot with the following choices:
- D: Obama/McCain
- R: McCain/Obama
I'll be twitching for weeks.

See post 72 and read up on Pete Olson. It will lift your spirits. They don’t care if you scream, unless you say, “ai ai ai”—

Maybe there is a CHANCE that this is for show, to make a symbolic, meaningless gesture to dim-witted eco swing voters who CARE about the VIRONMENT without having any real negative effects; indeed if we get more nuke power plants built it could be a net positive!I'd love to think that. It just doesn't seem possible for McCain to be as bad a candidate as he appears.
