For what its worth, the New York Times reports that the U.S.s designated new commander in Pakistan, General James Hood, has not been allowed to take up his new job. He had served as commander of Gitmo, and although he actually did away with some of the roughest forms of interrogation there and won some (grudging) praise from human rights groups, his legacy in the Middle East is tainted by Newsweeks lie:
General Hood, who took command of the detention center at Guantánamo Bay in March 2004, shortly before the Abu Ghraib scandal in Iraq broke, sought to put a more human face on it. He was credited by lawyers for the prisoners and human rights groups with having improved the treatment of detainees, and it was soon after he took over that some of the most severe interrogation methods were curtailed.
But he also had to deal with the fallout of a report in Newsweek asserting that a military inquiry was expected to find that a Koran had been flushed down a toilet at the detention center. The magazine later retracted the article, but the military inquiry concluded that a soldier had inadvertently splashed urine on a Koran. The magazines original assertion led to riots in Pakistan and Afghanistan that left at least 17 people dead.

Funny that the traitors, and that’s what they are, in the MSM made such a big stink about false story claiming that a koran was flushed down the toilet, yet have absolutely no problem with burning American flags.
The article has a link to a column by the Time’s Nicholas Kristoff in which he states that he believes the torture and mistreatment stories of the Gitmo terrorists over the word of our government. He’s a typical treacherous Leftist who does whatever he can to give aid and comfort to the Islamic Jihadist enemy. When will we stop tolerating traitors like him? When millions of Americans are dead at the hands of the IslamiNazis?
Nor with blasphemous “art” funded by taxpayers.
Actually it think it's "All the news that fits our views"
That’s their motto, too.
Or using US taxpayer dollars to fund the soaking of a crucifix in a jar of urine.
The NY Slimes, Newsweak, etc. should be flushed down the biggest commode this side of the Mississippi.
Hopefully, you're on the east side of the Mississippi.
I wonder what Newsweek thought of the crucifix suspended in a jar of urine?
Did they think that was the highest form of art like all the rest of the liberals?
So a koran in a toilet is exaclty the same- isn’t it?
I bet someone could become famous if they put one in a jar of urine and placed it next to the other so-called ‘art’ exibit
