My wife Mrs. Don-o is having gastric bypass surgery on Thursday, May 8. If all goes well, she should be discharged on Saturday.
She is very confident in the surgeon, who has done over 1800 of these operations (four hour procedure). She is doing all the research possible on her own and expects do fabulously.
The hope is for almost instant relief from diabetes and three or four related co-morbidities. The major post-op risk, statistically, is pulmonary embolism. In her case, this risk is mitigated by the fact that she's been walking and exercising a whole lot, but exacerbated by the fact that she has a presently incurable and progressive form of COPD (rheumatoid-related bronchiolitis.)
She says if y'all would pray for her she'll breathe a lot easier (!) Thanks, everybody.
Thank you very, very much
Prayers Bump for Mrs. Don-o !!!
Prayers up and a BTT.
I have a relative that had the same surgery, and does very well as long as she stays on her diet. We are very proud of her.
Mrs. Don-o sure has my prayers.
Prayers up, of course, and we'll be pulling for you!
Sorry, I didn’t see your post until after I replied. Please relay that West Tennessee is praying for her.
Prayer on the way for all involved!
Thanks Nork. I asked a mod which forum to post this in. Got no answer so I put it in news.
My best wishes to the lovely Mrs. Don-o.
Mrs. don-o, you’re taking a very positive step to improve your health. I know a bypass person and a “bander”—lapband, and both have experienced whole new lives as a result of these operations.
With your new life, I pray that the Lord will give you new tasks to do for Him. And you will be able to do them.
For now, we ask our Lord to guide the surgeon and his team on Thursday. And to give you and Mr. Don-o strength to face the challenge of the day. He is in control Thursday—praise His Name.
Let us know what happens.
A prayer sent, Mrs. Don-o.
Prayers!
Bump.
Prayers up for a speedy recovery Mrs. don-o...
Prayers to your wife, to you Don-O, and your family.
It’s your responsibility to make sure she doesn’t cheat on the post-op diet. That means you might have to do the grocery shopping too. If she can’t buy it she can’t eat it. Lessoned learned in my family from a successful operation and recovery once the diet was being followed.
Prayers up for Mrs. don-o.
Prayers up for you and the doctors and nurses treating you!
Well, Mrs. Don-o,
You have a wonderful husband for thinking about this ahead of time.
May God bless you and keep you safe during your surgery. May He guide the physicians hands and may the surgery be a complete success.
Praying also for a speedy recovery.
Mr. Don-o,
God bless you. I pray that He surrounds you with His loving grace and peace during your waiting. That is the hardest part for the person in the waiting room.
Bless you both.
Prayers for Mrs.d my FRiend!
