I have several bluegrass CD's, including the soundtrack to the stage play, " A Lie of the Mind", and a CD by a great vocal group called Seldom Scene.
My soundtrack collection, includes the three "Lord of the Rings" CDs, Forrest Gump, Memoirs of a Geisha, and the soundtrack to the PBS story of Irish immigration to the US, The Long Journey Home.
All of those are in addition to my 60's rock, Beatles, 70's folk rock, and various New Age type CDs. And those don't even include my Christmas music which goes from Messiah and Bach's Christmas Oratorio, to Harry Connick Jr, and Trisha Yearwood.
I've loaded them all on my computer, put them into categories, and I'll choose a group and put it on shuffle, and enjoy.
I had to go into the hospital the day before Thanksgiving for a procedure. I just loaded all my Christmas music onto my iPod, and enjoyed being able to listen to it while staying overnight.
I just love music!
It's totally cool that I never know what is coming up next when I just have random play running in the background. I'll listen to just about anything but rap, and some of the stuff that I have, like Linkin Park have a fair amount of that in it as well, though not as obnoxious as some I've heard.
I just love that we now have the technology to bring along such a huge collection of music everywhere we go. Once I'm able to get a solid-state 100gb player, I'll dump everything on it, and carry the soundtrack to my life everywhere. :-)
About the only thing I really segregate is my Christmas music. I've got about 4.5 gb of that, that I queue up when the Christmas season starts kicking in for me.
