Yep. John McCain is no more conservative than John Kerry. They all quit. There are no conservatives to represent me. They've no guts, so now the liberals are taking charge. The "conservative voters" appear to be leftists these days, they just don't know it. I'd say the liberal education system has just about completed its indoctrination.

I was cheering for Fred long before he even declared his candidacy. If you searched far enough back, you would find that I was calling for Fred even prior to this. Once he got wishy-washy I lost interest in him. Nobody will back a candidate who "does the Perot".
My posting has become spotty because people on these forums make personal matters out of discussing the issues, and become far more nasty than I will tolerate.
Oh, another issue that slowed me down as a “Fred Head” was his ejection of that lady from the airport after she asked him a CFR question. Fred didn’t appear to supporting the First Ammendment at that moment.
Interesting. I never read that, and you’d think the anti-Freds would have been crowing about it here. I saw him answer several questions about CFR while on the campaign trail, so he had no problem with folks asking. I wonder what the woman did that caused the folks at that venue to make her leave?
I don't know. The incident troubled me quite a lot, and there was never any closure. What concerned me the most was that "conservatives" on FR were terribly happy about her expulsion. I would have thought they'd be more concerned over the exercise of Constitutional rights. Following that, I observed the accelerating destruction of true conservatism in the GOP and in the "GOPers".
I am greatly concerned about this Nation. The candidates are all very left-leaning ... evidently because most Americans lean that way. The GOP looks to me like the Democrats did in the 70s. The Democrats are very loony now.

Yes it did anger a lot of conservative folks! And not just from NC. The NC Republican Party received donations from conservatives across the nation to support them in their actions and to keep the ad going. Those were funds that would have gone to McCain had he not put down the NC Republican Party with his comments.
This is “old” news, but I read that McCain’s Winston Salem speech is to be on judicial nominees. I can see why Fred is to be present, to buttress conservative opinion.

He may have all the votes there, but he still needs money,money,money. You have to stay out there on the trail, and keep your name in the papers, or the funding dries up. Right now, the GOP needs a LOT of money, given how much the opposition is raising almost effortlessly. Of course, they are going through it like water, but they’re riding a funding tsunami right now.

The true meaning of the First Ammendment and proportional treatment of fellow citizens is lost on you, the "new breed" of the GOP. That is just one reason why I can't consider myself one of you.

As I recall, he tried to end itafter answering the question, and she would not stop interrupting, even after he had walked away from her. The security folks then stepped in, which is their job, and removed her from the event.

I know what the First Amendment is about well enough to know that there ARE limitations on it. Going from asking a question civilly, and being answered, to pushing and shouting, as happened at the event (which was techically a private fundraising event) go past that line. I’m no “new breed” Republican, unless you consider anyone under 50 “new breed”.
